This random piece came from the forum post "When does racing season start for you?"
I went to answer his question and just kept writing!
Its mostly about me, but I also want to highlight a concentrated effort on how the Outlaws,United Sprint Car Series, and Carolina Sprint Tour are turning the Southeast into an amazing destination for sprint car racing.
Pete with the USCS has found a home through the early winter months attracking racers from all over the country toward his gator tracks. The Outlaws being told not to near California have found a home to sold out crowds in southern towns.
The Carolina Sprint Tour (305 RaceSavers) just had their greatest weekend ever at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC last weekend with over thirty cars in attendance.
I was able to come in 7th both nights and broke the track record Saturday night. With racesavers being so close motorwise, I was praying just to make the feature both nights, much less top 7 both nights.
Coming home from a long weekend with a sprint car that doesn't have a scratch on it in a long, long time.... Dad and I have decided to go race Lincoln, PA this weekend!
The adrenaline rush from just having a blast racing sprint cars will make a dad and son do crazy things like drive from Hemby Bridge, NC to the heart of Pennyslvania to beat a bunch of Posse.
Bobby Allen said if we did ok, and wanted to come back the next week to race Williams Grove, we could keep our trailer at his place since I had to haul ass home to work Sunday morning. I hope I'm able to take him up on his offer! The Shark just keeps getting cooler and cooler.
Most racers put out their fantasy race schedules and everyone wishes them the best. I've really only tried to put out my first race and pray life goes well. Its the greatest feeling in the world to close the trailer door at the end of the night and look at dad, and say "well, where do you want to race now?" "Lincoln is racing 305's next week." "Aight."
Dad is a huge reader of Hosehead forums, but never commented. I use to write halfway decent articles on here but have sense lost a passion for it for some reason. It felt great to be excited to write about racing again. I hope I catch on again.
I know this article was all over the place and please forgive. I'm just not use to this much sprint car racing in the South and now I'm racing Lincoln!!!
Life is perfect. Wish us luck!
