I am curious at how many subscribers dirtvision has? Do any of you out there in Hoser land have any idea or have any of you ever heard? Do you think it's in the hundreds, thousands or something different? I would just be curious to know since they do both sprint cars and late models.

My guess is that during the peak of the season they get 10-15 thousand subscribers but that is total speculation. Whatever the number is, it's enough to be pay the bills as they have had several races early in the year with limited crowds and still paid good purses.

The potential sponsor slide deck shows 40,000 subscribers to DirtVision for what that's worth:
https://volusiaspeedwaypark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/14/2020/04/2021_DCN_Sponsor_Template.pdf
(and if you're like me and want to do the math, that's 40,000 x $39 = $1,560,000.00 per 28 day months. Obviously I'm sure that 40k subscriber number is on the high side and fluctuates throughout the season as people cancel/review, but it's certainly a nice revenue stream for them.

That sounds fairly accurate. I only had it for the summer so I must be that .5 member.

I always wonder how much the tracks/promoters get of that subscription money, if any.

So let's say that instead of only 40,000 it is only 30,000. Doing the simple math of 39 dollar times 13 a year (507 dollars to be exact), then multiply that times 30,000, they are well over 15 million dollars a year! That is for subscriptions only, no promoting or profits from each WoO series. If it is 40,000 you can add another 5.07 million. Also, by adding a 13th billing cycle to the year, they make an extra $1,170,000 a year using 30,000 subscribers. Imagine if it was actually 80,000??!!

They're operating as though they are doing really well. Think about all the improvements they have made lately:
1) Major improvements to DV coverage, drones, multiple cameras, pit announcers etc..
2) Announcing that video boards will be at every event in 2021
3) Purse and point fund increases, the first in many many years. Special events have increased alot lately but your regular WoO show hasn't gone up in a decade or more.

I wouldn't bank that all 30-40k subscribers stay on for all 13 billings. Myself and at least 10 or so others that I know only pay for 8-10 billing cycles. Mainly we subscribe on the first race & cancel right after the last one. Some of us cancel if there is a stretch of races we go to or like myself, cancels during the west coast swings as I can't stay up that late anymore at home.
I would say $39x10months is closer to the avg most people spend. Still that is around $11.7 for 30k subscribers & $15.6 for 40k which is a pretty good chunk of coin. I would imagine though the summer months have a bigger subscriber numbers than other months go. On avg the 40k number seems pretty accurate based on social media and the amount of people in certain groups who talk about the races

My guess would be in a consistent bracket around 25,000-30,000 registered users. If you include everyone watching on the links that get passed around, I'd say tenter is probably pretty close. Lol

My electric bill came in the mail today and it got me to wondering how many customers Xcel Energy has here in Minnesota. Can anybody help me out?
That is how much I care about how many subscribers Dirtvision has. As long as their service is affordable I will continue to pay for their service for a few months in the summer. If they raise the price I will do something else next summer. It's as simple as that.

I think your viewpoint is correct, I pulled 80,000 from something the outlaws published. I woud be willing to bet that half of those 80,000 purchased one race or one month. Even if the number is 10,000 that have the yearly subscription, having an extra 5million in the bank every year is going to help.
I will say that WRG is putting lots of money back into their product. the upgrades they have done to dirtvision in the last couple years are significant.
As far as guys wanting to pay the back markers in the B and C, Im ok if you want to give an extra $25 or $50 to help pay a pit pass or some diesel but to think a guy should get $500 to finish 3rd in the C? Start your own series...

Actually Stan, I'm pretty sure that .5 is for a pregnant lady who is counted as 1.5

Some have accused me of being half assed so I guess that I was too eager to accept the blame.
The only subscriber I worry about is me and my own bottom line. I retired after forty years of number crunching and try to ignore anything to do with customers.
