You'd figure that the organization could find a better track to have their finals at..Was at Eldora in 2016 and Thursday before the Kings Royal was like that..Couldn't see shit..Friday and Saturday were clear as day..Never saw dust like tonight anywhere..I guess its there because of the massive crowd it could hold..There was better racing at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks ND earlier this year than this shithole..

If it was so dangerous why didnt the drivers pull off the track and demand something be done?? Apparently, the MONEY YOU MENTION was VERY IMPORTANT to all the teams and drivers. So dont just throw WRG under the bus as far as the show money goes. The drivers have all the power and could have easily refused to race

This is all on WRG

Not fair to say the drivers could just pull out... what happens if 11 of 12 of the full-time guys (whatever the number is) say they are pulling out because of safety issues, but then 1 of them says... OK, I'll run for the 12k to win

This is on WRG and Charlotte

I'm curious what you think they could have done at that point?

I agree with poster from above.  While WRG is at fault...the drivers and teams are at fault as well.  So the chance of making 12k overrides fear of the track conditions?  I was at Knoxville a few years back when it got fogged out.  The drivers said it wasnt safe.  And WRG called the race.  So if all the drivers said Charlotte was unsafe or all pulled off WRG woulda called it.

At my old "home track" of Freeport, IL (terrible facility) they attempted 2 winged-sprint races back in the 90's.  Both were IRA sanctioned.  Both were called because of safety.  The first because the place turned into a dust bowl, and was called after 12 or 14 laps.  And, it was NOTHING like what was witnessed last weekend.  You are correct----it should have been called.

(The second race was called because the night before we got a few inches of rain and the track was going to be FAST.  They made the decision to use the inner 1/4 mile track instead of the big 1/2 mile because the fence was a piece of junk.  They still managed to put one through the fence on the 1/4 mile track and end the night.  Never fear though----they gave us a $10 refund out of our $25 admission price even though we didn't make it through the first heat.  Don't know if any of you Hosers were at that race or not)

Drivers have gone to officials in the past and said you need to cancel and wrg has. Gibson could shed some light on that. WRG was throwing the yellow every time the leaders caught the back markers. I think if the track was rough it would have been the deciding factor. Again, Gravel mentioned, he couldn't see 3 feet in front of him. Guess what, he never slowed, so it is what it is. Also remember drivers today have 1 way ear buds in. Does that play a factor ? We will never know.

River Cities Speedway produces some of the best racing than almost all tracks in the entire world - night in, night out - let alone when the Outlaws are there.  So I'm not sure where you're going with this comparison because it's an insult to RCS to be compared to Charlotte....
