I remember last year Lucas Wolfe being quite strong most of the season, yet this year seems to have fallen back and is struggling against some teams. I recall he had either an accident or an illness over the past 24 months. Just curious what had happened or why he has not been quite as strong?

To say Lucas has had a poor season in 2020 is an understatement. After injuring his back, he has not been the same and has barely qualified for races this year, let alone contend for wins. Heard he had to switch the type of containment seat he previosly ran and is not comfortablle...The team has tried everything, from switching from a xXx chassis to a Maxim and then back to a xXx. They brought noted Crew Chief Lee Stauffer in for a bit and that did not work.....hopefully they chauk this year off and can somehow regroup for 2021...Lucas is a great guy off the track and it would be hard to think he just woke up one day and forgot how to drive.

If I recall correctly he was out several weeks due to a compression fracture in his spine last year though I doubt that has had anything to do with his performance of late. I think just the whole Posse as a whole has really has really lost some speed this year. Your only as good as the people you race. It's been showing with the results vs the WOO and the All-stars.

You're not wrong about the Posse. 0-for against the WoO this year. They aren't what they used to be but Lucas hasn't even been the least bit competitive against local competition at regular weekly shows. He's had to qualify through the consi many times at regular shows. His best finish this season is 4th and I think he did that on 2 occasions. Whatever it is that's off, it happened when he got injured. I think we're all rooting for him to return to form. He's a good guy and a clean racer.

Actually Posse was 2-0 vs WoO this weekend. Problem was they were 0-2 vs the 57.
It has been difficult watching Lucas struggle this year. I’m glad that Barshinger has stuck with him for the entire year. He does have a 360 win in NY driving the beer wagon.

That is correct, there was not an Outlaw on the podium last night.

Lucas is cut from the same mold as his dad. That crash in which he hurt his back has seemed to take that dare devil drive away. When Lee came in I thought for sure we would see a turn around. It just hasn't been the case. Hopefully this off season he will be able to get that mindset back and come out strong next year.

In the case of the 24 team results. You have to look at Mike Barshinger. It's his team and he wants to direct all aspects of the team. That's his right. Rusty from Rat Fab Shock technology, came with Lucas to the team. He brought a strong record of car set up, trackside adjustments and following the changing track conditions during a race. He was let go early in the current season. Lee Stauffer wanted more team control than Mike was willing to allow. He left. The team has struggled with the inconsistent qualities of the xxx chassis. Lucas and his back are fine! He can wheel a car with the best of them! Mike has to provide a car, that is at least equal to the competition. He owns good motors and components. The development of a competitive package is where his problem lies. He wants to call the shots on chassis, shocks, tires, and motor tune. He turns the adjustments bolts on the bars. It's his team. Lucas can only do what he can with what he is given to work with.

A back in a sprint car is no joke. Let's hope he can take the offseason to rest and rehab. He is a better driver than the last 6 mo have shown, but no doubt he will be fast again. Too much talent.

HOSEHEADS SPRINT FORUM USERS:
1. This post was brought to the top again (it's 2 1/2 years old) by a spammer and I deleted the post and told the 'user' to delete their account
2. The post the spammer put up in response, to those who read it before I was able to delete it today, was NOT true.
3. So if you saw it today, and read it, delete it from your brain memory as it's someone probably from some other country that couldn't pick out a sprint car from a line up, not to mention even know who Lucas is.
...continue on with your day today...nothing to see here.
