i've been told by promoters that in appreciation of a successful first season and since no other local tracks are running sprint cars, on September 18-20 Tri City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pa will be hosting a $5000 to win $400 to start 410 race along with a lot of other divisions. They will be running a practice on Friday, heat races Saturday, features Sunday. The other divisions will include Big Block Modifieds ($4000 to win), 358 modifieds ($4000 to win), as well as crate sportsman modifieds, crate non wing sprint cars, pro stocks, and mini stocks. A $25 camping fee and admission is to be determined.

This could get a lot of modified drivers from NY as their season never took off.

That's their hope. I'm trying to help them get the word out to help get as many cars as they can. They've really had some great shows this year and intend to pay out over $80,000 in purse money that weekend. It's a pretty incredible undertaking for first year promoters

I don't think that's all that great of an idea. A 2 day show for 5,000?

It's pretty common in our area to have a big end of year blowout with a lot of divisions. It's based on the steel city stampede at Lernerville which pays $3000 to win the headline divisions. It's more about the atmosphere and end of the year get together. It's a $21,000 total purse for the sprints

For western pa sprints that's a good pay out. Not sure how many sprints they'll pull in ? But the big block guys, with new York being down, should have a nice field.
