METAMORA - Stanley W. Shoff, age 78, of Metamora passed away at 10:15 p.m. Monday. Nov. 12, 2007, at Snyder Village in Metamora.
He was born June 16, 1929, in Peoria to Frank J. and Bertha M. (Neptune) Shoff. He married Barbara M. McEvoy on Oct. 5, 1946, in Peoria, Ill. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Michael, husband of Susan, Shoff and Clifford, husband of Cynthia, Shoff, all of Metamora. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Ryan and Marci Shoff, Scott Shoff, Erin and Nicholas Miller, Lauren Shoff and Kyle Shoff; and two great-grandchildren, Katherine Shoff and Brent Miller.
He was a graduate of Manual High School.
He was the owner and president of McBride & Shoff Inc. and owner of Metamora Industries Inc., both in Metamora.
He was a national champion sprint car owner.
He was a member of the Joseph Robbins Lodge 930 AF&AM in Bartonville, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria and Mohammed Shrine Temple, both in Peoria.
He was an avid golfer, belonging to the Country Club of Peoria and Tall Oaks Country Club in Toluca.
He was a member and former board member of Metamora Christian Union Church.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Christina Union Church in Metamora, with the Rev. Gary Salm and the Rev. Roger Ruhman officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday at his church and also one hour prior to services. Private family burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his church or to Snyder Village.
