PA Speedweek has been a smash hit so far. Last night was incredible. Please do your part to keep this going in PA by at least wearing a mask or not spitting. Social distancing is impossible so at least do the other things.
Cases are going up in PA...almost double what they were on June 16. We are on path to being shut down again.
PA Speedweek blocked me on Twitter for posting this request. They showed what they are all about. I will cross my fingers that they don't have blood on their hands in a few weeks. Unfortunately I'm not sure they will care since they will be busy counting their money.

I'm not saying I agree with the decisions being made to shut some areas of the country down again at this time.....because I don't. (I think the outbreaks need to have a little more teeth before shutting things down again) However, it's a matter of time before every single area of the country is forced to shut down again at some point. (except maybe New York---they should not have near the epidemic) The politicians can all say they aren't going to shut down again-----------they're going to shut down again. They will have no choice. The actual outbreak has yet to happen. All you have to do is look at past epidemics like this to see the pattern. I just hope it hold off in most areas until the end of summer so we can get some enjoyment out of summer and maybe get the Nationals in as well.
We're in for a very gloomy fall and winter.

We're all responsible for our own safety. Do what your comfortable with and I'll continue to do what I have been doing. I don't need people to think for me.

Seriously, blood on their hands? It's good they blocked you on Twitter, they don't need you starting a battle between folks over something that is supposed to be a break from this virus garbage, and enjoyable. And guess what doctor..... Port Royal has been back open now for going on four weeks. You know how many new cases Juniata County has in those four weeks???? One, yes one. And some of the surrounding counties around JC, zero. So please stop preaching to people.

I don't think the intent of his post was about your rights or safety. It was perception by governors and the very high likelyhood that all of these events are soon going to be shut down again by the health dept's all over the country. I thought Knoxville did a great job with the social distancing efforts a couple of weeks ago. Was it perfect? No. But then again, this isn't the Spanish Flu. Any little thing to keep this slow-burning instead of spiking would be great. The fact that there is still a bunch of chest-pounding going on when everyone has already seen what the governors will do if cases spike is mind boggling. It's like no one cares if it happens all over 2 or 3 more times.

Yes, we can all think for ourselves..................................................until they tell us the race tracks are closed. No wonder we are the laughing stock of the rest of the world.

As I have said before when I go out in public these days, I wear a mask and it is not because I am a "sheep" or because I scared for my little life which is just as insignifcant in the grand scheme of things as everyone elses. I wear it just out of respect for others as I am not sure what senior citizen might be a little frightened to go out in public or what toddler might have a compromised immune system and might catch any virus easier than the rest of us. It does not hurt my little ego at all to wear one and speaking as someone who has had respiratory/breathing issues his whole life I do not have any issues with breathing while wearing one. Whether someone else wears one or not around me does not matter to me, all I ask is to keep some friggin distance between themselves and me. And whether anyone wears one or not it should not be a representation on their penis size, mental/physical toughness, and/or pain tolerance and you are not a stupid "sheep" if you wear one or not.

The EU has opened up all travel from almost all other countries..................except ours. Why? We are incapable of getting out of our own way. Almost evey other country has nipped this problem except for us and a couple of other stubborn outliers. (Brazil for example) We laughed and mocked others all over the world early on and we are about to become the biggest fools of all.

If the recent spike in cases leads to a spike in deaths, all entertainment/sports will be shut down and we'll be back to where we were. Hopefully with the recent cases affecting more young people, deaths will stay relatively low.

What we and the rest of the world should be seen as laughingstocks is that 43% of US deaths (similar rates in the rest of the world too) were in nursing homes. That doesn't get as much play from the media because it reflects more poorly on Dem politicians, but it was a far more reckless policy than what it going on now.

I have read all the threads on this and I offer the following observations...
1. Watch any PPV race anywhere in the country and you will see the obvious.... race fans are not into mask... full stop.
2. they will wear mask when they are told they can't come in without one... they will then bitch like hell, and put on the mask.
3. Any race fan who actually believes any politician fails pre race inspection and sent to the rear of the field...
4. The European Union and Brazil have no sprint car races and just don't count at horseheads.. ( at least not as much as anyplace with a dirt track nearby)....
5. Finally, I am sitting in my house (with no mask) watching speedweeks after watching races in California, Minn. Tenn and Pa. all from Saturday... I am in spint car heaven.. I must be missing something.....

Some of you guys still don't get it. Its NOT about individual freedom, its about responsibility to the group. YOU might not be worried about getting sick, but you could infect OTHERS , even if you don't have symptoms. You think you're bunch of Heroic Freedom Fighters, but you're actually spoiled brats who have to have your own way.
We could get this whole crap over with if we're smart & work together, but nooooo...its gonna go on & on at this rate
Obviously you DO need someone to think for you...

I've been enjoying all sorts of races on PPV, but its obviously not nearly as good as live racing
All I see is people still jammed together, no social distancing, no masks. Its gonna be the 1st Speedweek I've missed in 10 yrs.
Save yourselves the trouble of typing out your replies. i've already heard it all before... lemme guess.. Snowflake? sheep?
Epidemiologists who know way more than any of us tell us we need to take COVID seriously. They're not just doing it to ruin your fun...

You'll pull an article saying how masks prevent spreading. I'll pull an article saying how masks are causing an increase in infection due to poor air getting continuously recycled in my body at a low oxygen content or how the vast majority of masks are useless or worn improperly and we will just go circles.... maybe some truth to both. Again you do you and I'll do what I've been doing. You automatically write off anything that isn't 100% political backed by the left. Now I guess it's okay for you to blanket label who I am (or maybe an entire group of people) though we have never met. Everything is such a one way street with you like everyone can be free to believe in whatever they want unless it doesn't align with my your cancel culture values. Allow me to think different and please do not try to think for me. That's what made America great to begin with.
if you want we can keep doing circles. You can give me stats on infection numbers and death rates and I can give you stats on per capita numbers or test numbers. Maybe we can talk about masked/unmasked protestors or pride parades that are Gathering in large areas in numbers larger than a racetrack that doesn't get any press.
Back on the racing topic: I will not wear a mask at a race. If required I will not be in attendance.

Why do people have to make it about politics???
Its a damn VIRUS, has no idea or interest in what we think
The VAST majority of doctors say to wear a mask. They're not just Internet BS artists
Do you only go to Republican doctors or dentists?

It's not hard to blanket label you when you make posts like this, and your approach to masks tells me all I need to know. Pulling articles from unreliable sources doesn't count.
I don't care what kind of stats you want to pull, you cannot argue against COVID in the US being at it's worst point right now. We are on a massively sharp incline - there is absolutely no way anyone can say otherwise. It may be isolated, sure, but it will likely lead to restrictions again, so get ready for that mask my man!
