My top 5 picks that have best chance to win this year... What's your picks..

No particular order...

Ten Time Donny Schatz

Big Cat Brad Sweet

David Gravel

Logan Schuhart

Aaron Reutzel

My dark horse picks Steel City Tim Shaffer, Lance Dewease.. The stars got to line up just right for these guys to win.  Sorry no Brian Brown. He is good for one day show but somehow loses it when the big Money is on the line..

Schuhart is my pick to get it done. Big cat, gravel, schatz and pitman.  Dark horse Shaffer or maybe even Sheldon after his last couple weekends

Favorites IMO in no particular order and reason ...

15 - obvious reasons regardless of his so called "off year" even though he is still a close 2nd in points

49 - one of the most consistent cars on tour with most outlaw wins this year + has a nationals to his name

21 - hasn't been to every race at Knoxville this year and is still going to be track champion + his countless number of laps around that place

41 - looked great last night and has always been able to get around that place pretty well. plus crew cheif has won the race before

57 - has always been right there come saturday and finds a way to get everything out of his car

honorable mentions - 1s, 71 (Gio), 18, 87, 2m.

1s had no speed last night. Not sure if that was the Knoxville car or another car, but he wasn’t fast.

Schatz & Sweet are the automatic picks.

Brian Brown has never quite lived up to the prerace hope as the hometrack favorite (ala Terry McCarl) but he's too good at this track not to be considered at least a Tier 2 favorite

Gravel ran very well last night at the Cappy Classic.

If Larson is there, he'll be a serious threat.

Those would be my five, though you can just take the top two and you probably have the winner covered.

Is this heaven?

I don't care who wins it as long as it's an exciting safe drama free race.  That's the neat thing about racing, we can have many favorite drivers.  If I was to pick one I'd probably say we will see the #15 at the top of the heap when the final bell rings.  wink

After watching last night's race, that is a tough one.  Who ran their best piece?  Who didn't?  Who was throwing some weird stuff at their car for the hell of it?  Tough to tell and no one is going to spill their secrets.  Smile

That said, and after witnessing last night's show, it's tough to narrow to 5.

Schatz, Sweet, Larson must be the top 3.

After last night, I'll give the last 2 spots to Brown and Gravel.

However, Gio was on fire.  TK was the fastest car on the track by lap 25 of the A.  I expect Logan to be faster by Wed/Thurs.  Dunno.  Could be good----again!
