MSCS AND USAC PREPARE FOR A SPRING SHOWDOWN AT TRI-STATE

     Haubstadt, IN - April 3, 2019.  The 2019 racing season at Tri-State
Speedway will open with the annual SPRING SHOWDOWN on Saturday April
13.  The racing program that evening will feature the AMSOIL National
United States Auto Club Sprints and the Brandeis Midwest Sprint Car
Series.  This will be the first of two co-sanctioned events at
Haubstadt this season with both 410 non-wing sprint car series
competing together.  The SPRING SHOWDOWN will be conducted using the
USAC race format.

The Showdown is the first event on the season schedule for MSCS.
USAC has already held 3 races in Florida and is also scheduled to
race Friday night April 12 at Bloomington Speedway before appearing
at Haubstadt on Saturday.  The USAC-MSCS feature at Haubstadt will
pay $5,000 to win!

Brandeis Midwest Sprint Car Series licensed drivers do receive full
points when competing in co-sanctioned events.  Annual licenses will
be available for purchase in the pit area at the speedway for any
drivers needing to obtain or renew licenses.  The pit gate will open
at 3:30 P.M. C.D.T.

The reigning Brandeis MSCS Champion is Carson Short of Marion, IL.
Short captured his first MSCS title in 2018.  He is also currently
tenth in USAC points!  The SPRING SHOWDOWN is the first of 20 races
that MSCS has scheduled.  Each one will impact the driver points
standings and eventually determine a season champion.

Kevin Thomas Jr. won the SPRING SHOWDOWN last year.  He had also won
this event back in 2014.  Chris Windom won it in 2017.  Other winners
dating back to the origin of the race in 2012 were Chase Stockon,
Brady Bacon, Hunter Schuerenberg, and Daron Clayton.

The three USAC races previously held at Ocala, Florida, produced
three different winners.  C.J. Leary, Chris Windom, and Justin Grant
captured those feature races.  The top five drivers in USAC points
heading into the two Midwest track openers are C.J. Leary, Kevin
Thomas Jr., Chase Stockon, Justin Grant, and Chris Windom.  The top
two drivers are separated in the standings by just two points.  The
2018 USAC National Champion Tyler Courtney is currently sixth in
series points.

The SPRING SHOWDOWN is just that - one great opportunity for race
fans to see the very best sprint car drivers and enjoy the thrills
dirt track racing produces.  Warm-ups on Saturday the 13th begin at
6:30 P.M.  Heat races begin at 7:30 P.M.  Tri-State Speedway is
located in the Central Time zone.

The UMP Open Wheel Modified Cars will also be racing.  Their feature
will pay $600 to win.  The double bill creates another brand of
impending action waiting to take a turn on the track.  Mod feature
winners last season included Zach Fair, Trent Young, Dustin Beck,
Brandon McDowell, and Stan Beadles.  Adult tickets are $25, student
tickets are $20, and children 12 and under are admitted free.
