Go Tate Cole!
If you're driving for Chad Wheeler's team, you're okay for me.

The way it appears without doing some all out search, six drivers (the top six) have competed in all three previously held races for the Oklahoma Modified State Championship. Three races Dave? They have run four thus far! Well not so fast. It appears that Enid Speedway Park was dropped from the list as they ran a non-points weekly race on the same night as Meeker. While there was no points, there was still a race for modifieds. I don't think they would have picked up any of those Enid drivers but that is another story.
First off, I am a nobody but here are my thoughts on what is a great concept but needs tweaking. Drivers I have talked too, both running the deal and those not, are not interested in jackets or trophies or the like. A points fund would be nice. Instead of paying an entry fee, charge maybe $50 or $75 payable right when you draw, for all modified drivers competing. There needs to be one representative of this little series or make sure the tracks are responsible enough to keep the money and have it all available for the year-end points fund.
There are fifty-two drivers have competed in at least one of the three races and that alone is $2600 dollars. Just those who have competed in more than one would bring that to well over $5000 and that is just with one race left in the deal. That could be split amongst either the top ten in points or amongst the drivers who competed in each show.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to downgrade this deal. Just giving my opinion about having it tweaked.

But on the other hand - ir created five different tracks not running their "winter" nationals on top of each other. and they stayed off on SFS's Wint. Nat. - I think that was a pretty good idea. Off the top of my head - each of these mod races payed like 2 or 3k to win - USMTS pays about the same when they have races in Oklahoma - except at those mod races you have to run against the likes of Shryock and other heavy hitters. Money or no money - it's done well in many other aspects. If nothing else it gives an organized opportunity to run fall nationals at 5 different tracks - that should make all mod fans and many harcore racers very happy. I think it's a great idea and it needs to be done from now on - as I think it will grow and grow each year - and eventually you know they will add some dough to it. Whoever had the idea - along with the promoters - need to keep doing it. I haven't seen any of the races myself but I still would say thanks for them puttin something cool like that together.
