JULY 28 - INDIANA SPRINT WEEK - USAC IS AT TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY

     Haubstadt, IN - July 23, 2018 -  Tri-State Speedway will be racing
Saturday night July 28th.  That night Indiana Sprint Week is
scheduled to conclude at the quarter mile high banked speed plant.
The event should serve as the seventh and final round of  the NOS
Energy Drink USAC Indiana Sprint Week.  Weather permitting the top
race teams and  fans supporting this cause will have traveled to
seven different dirt tracks across the Hoosier state over a nine day
period.

Two of the three races to be held the first weekend dodged wet
weather.  The Saturday night show at Kokomo was rained out and reset
for Tuesday.  So the competitors are now faced with running the last
five nights in a row instead of four.  Car counts for this year’s
races have been in or near the 40 range.  Strong fields provide
starting lineups for each feature that are deep in potential winners.

Brady Bacon won the feature on Friday night at Plymouth Speedway, a
new destination for the week long series within a series.  Current
USAC season points leader Tyler Courtney won on Sunday at
Lawrenceburg. The five remaining speedways holding races are at
Kokomo, Terre Haute,  Putnamville, Bloomington, and Haubstadt.  The
USAC regulars are familiar with all these tracks and the different
challenges they present.  The excitement builds all week long!

Kyle Cummins won the feature at last year’s Indiana Sprint Week
event at Haubstadt with a last lap move to pass Kevin Thomas Jr.
Carson Short won the event in 2016.  Kyle Cummins was second that year
and also in 2014.   Brady Short was the winner at Tri-State Speedway
in 2015.  Robert Ballou was victorious in 2014.  Indiana Sprint Week
races have been held at Tri-State Speedway since the 2000 season.

Following the first two of the seven races scheduled for 2018, Brady
Bacon led in Indiana Sprint Week points.  The 2016 and 2014 USAC
AMSOIL National Champion was off to a great start.  However that lead
is subject to change each time out.  Chris Windom held second in both
sprint week and national points.  Windom was the 2017 USAC AMSOIL
National Champion.  Kevin Thomas Jr. is the defending ISW Champion
and is also in the top ten in points!  There has been consistency in
that eight of the top ten in season points also were listed in the
top ten in sprint week points.

The UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will also be featured on this program.
The modified drivers will have an added incentive in that they will
be racing for $1,000 to win.  Dave Beck won the modified feature at
the ISW race last year.  Dustin Beck, Trent Young, and Zack Fair have
captured modified feature victories at the track so far this season.
Fair has had a top three finish in every one of those features.
Their 25 lap feature will be held to conclude the program.

The pit gate opens at 3 P.M.  Warm-ups begin at 6 P.M.  Hot laps and
time trials will precede the heats.  Racing begins at 7:30 P.M.  In
presenting a combination of sprint cars and modified cars, the
speedway offers one great night of short track open wheel racing.
