Gary Owens and Andy Shouse started on the front row for the twenty-lap feature with Owens taking the early lead over Shouse and fourth-starting Sellers. Sellers would dispose of Shouse for the runner-up position one lap later and on lap three, took over the top position from Owens.
Those two drivers ran one-two throughout the event with Sellers seemingly unchallenged until lap sixteen. That is when Owens would close the cap and began putting pressure on the Mustang driver and coming out of turn two, made his move to retake the lead on the last lap. Yet Sellers would not be denied and regained the advantage in turns three and four and would cross the finish line two-car-lengths over Owens to put the Pete Haskins owned #16s into victory lane in only his third start for the team.
Shouse would settled for third while eighth-starting Zach Blurton came home fourth. Travis Scott rounded out the top five.
2017 Nebraska State IMCA sprint car champion Tyler Drueke made the trip down from his Omaha, Nebraska home to make his first appearance in SSO competition a good one as he finished sixth from his ninth starting position.
