I have my wife talked in to going to Jackson Nationals. I'm pumped about it! Does anyone have recomendations on where to camp near the track with an RV? Also any good places to eat and sites to see. This is my first trip to Jackson so all help is appreciated.

The Iowa Great Lakes region would be my 100% suggestion on lodging, dining, drinking and daytime activities such as boating, skiing, swimming, amusement park, go-karting; etc.
It's about 20 minutes SW of Jackson, easy drive down highway 71 (my hometown).
One of the most beautiful areas to visit, with one of the best dirt tracks (Jackson) to go watch races - what more could a person ask for!

For sure this: Okoboji has some great spots. If the track is full I think there used to be a KOA site a few miles northwest of the track?

I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend hitting up Kat's Hog Heaven downtown Jackson! One of the best restaurants I've been to! Great, amazing service, and even better food! Oh, and he sponsors racing

Jackson, MN is a two stoplight town (roughly 3,500 pop.) so not a ton to do locally. Although if you are into biking and golf, they do have great trails and a nice 9-hole course. I have done both and was impressed. If you're into history/pioneer days, an afternoon at Fort Belmont would be up your alley. As others have mentioned, the Okoboji Lakes area south of Jackson has the majority of attractions. (Restaurants, amusement park, water park, etc)
As for eats, 'Kat's Hog Heaven' is a must stop. 'Pillar's' is a sports bar that is good as well. Santee/Embers for breakfast. Bridget's for a burger and beer. Coffee shop downtown owned by a member of Megadeth, unique setting but good coffee. Also have the chains, Dairy Queen, Burger King and Subway. Last year, Agco (local industry/business that sponsored the nationals) hosted a lunch with drivers signing autographs and cars on display, fun event that was packed.
I'm guessing the campground(s) at the track are already at capacity. Try the local KOA, not too far from the track.
I was lucky enough to find a spot at one of the local hotels. Looking forward to it!!

For camping there are also a couple of county parks 15 miles south of Jackson that are RV friendly. Look into Anderson, Brown and Robertson.
