this is for the guy who was wandering why Lawton was runnin Winter Nationals in such warm weather - and was half-blasted for it. This was written in The Open Wheel Times. Good mention of the Jennings racing family as well. but if you note the last part........seems it was more than 1 person thinking the same thing. Personally, I don't think Lanny is seasonally challenged. I'm with Brian26. I would rather see winter nationals in 85 degree weather.......than 55 degree weather.

Four of the 19 fuel-injected sprint cars Saturday at Lawton were driven by a Jennings from Norman, Oklahoma. Danny finished first followed by Brandon (fourth), Earnest (eleventh) and Bruce (thirteenth) in the Winter Nationals of seasonally-challenged Lanny Edwards.

This has always been the time of year for Winter Nationals for as far back as I can remember. I can't believe somebody would bring this up for discussion and make a big deal about it. It has been that way at Devils Bowl, Lawton and pre-Lanny Fairgrounds Speedway (State Fair Speedway) days.

I can't believe "Slease" would make mention of it in his column also.

yeah, judging by the weather tonight it doesn't seem like Lanny is too seaonally challenged........it wasn't cold, but statewide that was the only precip falling - and my best friend was gonna check out the races for the first time - can't tomorrow due to collegiate soccer..........but man you talk about bad luck......it was clear the whole way there until Portland Ave. and likewise when we left and headed back west. Bad bad luck.

Just hope we don't lose too many cars tomorrow............I've always hated day racing........
