What happened to McCeary and Goodyear in sprint car racing. Does anyone run any of these tires anymore?

Hard to run tires that aren't legal to run at most tracks or sanctioned races as they have exclusive deals with Hoosier in place.
I believe that McCreary (American Racer) has a stranglehold on open wheel modified racing though.

Actually, a couple years ago, IMCA went away from American Racer tires and Hoosier now makes all their tires for their mods and stock cars. Not sure if any other divisions run American Racer tires.

Don't any of the sanctions have tire deals with McCreary? I would think the ASCS or King of the West would be easy places to get in with.

USRA (USMTS Modifieds) still run the American Racer tires. USRA also runs them on their other classes.

SOS in Canada has American Racer Spec RR and MSA 360/Plymouth weekly sprints in WI require American Racers on 4 corners. I know several teams run American Racers in the non winged scene in OH with the BOSS series as they have an open tire rule. That is all I am aware of.

Exactly. And to add to that, if you're running an "off brand" (something other then Hoosier spec) week in and weeek out, your set-up is built around that tire. Now the WoO, or ASCS comes to town, or you want to travel to a big show, and you have to run their tire, your set-up is now way off. It's unfortunate but it's reality. Just too bad the "deal" doesn't trickle down to the person who's paying for the tire.

HOOSIER...pays point fund money into most speedway's and Lucas and WoO. I think DIRT out of new york has a deal with American racer. Goodyear's last hurrah I believe was with the WoO sprints. That was many many years ago.

Dirtcar has a tire deal with Hoosier just like the their WoO SC. However, most of the tracks that are not Dirtcar sanctioned (WRG actually sanctions weekly divisions at racetracks up there, not just a series) are free to make their own tire deals. Even DirtCar tracks can make separate tire deals for divisions that are not sanctioned by them.
Most of the tracks in PA, NJ, DE, and the Southern Tier of NY that run the Northeast modifieds have deals with American Racer. There are also some regional series that use AR's; such as the struggling Race of Champions Dirt Series as well as the very successful Short Track Super Series that is run by a guy named Brett Deyo. Just like the Hoosier deals, American Racer pays point fund money to the series and the racetracks where it has exclusive rights.
BTW, any time there is a race in the area that has open tire rules for the mods (usually at the beginning or end of the season) they all bolt on American Racers because they tend to be a much faster tire for these type of cars.

Many of the cars down under are running American Racers. Pretty sure they're mandated to run them, most of the pics I saw this Winter had American Racers on, even the Americans that were down there.
do it in the dirt

Frankie Kerr did alot of testing for Hoosier in the late 90's. Ok then it's a corner of the market.
