Brett Miller ready for Fall Nationals

By Gary Thomas

Chico, CA - October 2, 2007...After finishing 14th in the Civil War Series finale at Placerville last Saturday; Chico, Calif driver Brett Miller will close out the winged sprint car portion of the Silver Dollar Speedway schedule this weekend at the annual Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals. It will be the third time Brett has competed at the event which has been going on for more than 15 years at the Chico bullring.

The 18 year-old will go into the Fall Nationals having finished fourth in the final Silver Dollar Speedway point standings and will look to wrap up the winged sprint car season at the track on a high note. Brett has suffered through a large deal of tough luck over the last half of the season, be it engine issues or on track misfortune, but a good run at the Fall Nationals would certainly make up for the majority of it. The crew has worked hard and Brett has had a good car, now if the luck will turn around we should be in for a good weekend of racing action.

Last year’s Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals saw Brett have a very good weekend of competition. He was able to set fast time out of 42 cars during his preliminary night and bring home a ninth place finish in the prelim feature. It was good enough to give him a row seven starting position in Saturday’s main event and after 40 laps of racing he finished the Fall Nationals main event in sixth place. Last year’s main event was held on a rubber down surface and the Catfish was able to conserve his tires enough to earn a very solid finish.

The Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals has become one of the premier 360 winged sprint car events on the West Coast and will begin its three-night run starting this Thursday evening October 4. Nearly 100 cars are expected for the event, which forces the field to be split into a pair of qualifying night’s just like the Gold Cup Race of Champions. Brett and Care Free Pools Racing will take to the track on Thursday looking to gain as many points as possible towards Saturday’s starting line-up.

Gates open at 5 pm all three night’s with tickets costing $15 on Thursday & Friday, and $20 on Saturday. All seating will be general admission in what will be a can’t miss weekend of action. Brett and the team would like thank all our sponsors who have supported us this season and look forward to having a good run this weekend at the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals.
