Good thing it's just the drivers or the air would be filled with the unmistakeable sound of box-end wrenches hitting the ground.

I understand this idea isn't PC but I think the racing would be better if the WoO supplied the drugs. They could have a real Pill Draw.

I am glad drug testing is finally being implemented. But the WoO is falling one step short by not also saying alcohol is on the list. Any presence of alcohol in the system should be a suspension, not a full 90 days but 30 days. A person having a beer or a shot and then getting in a car to race is wrong also. At least the blood alcohol content should be the same as a CDL which is .40.
Also I hope the rule is the same for everyone, that is has some teeth. Donny Shat gets treated like John Doe would.
We don't need the Nassau plan. If anyone thinks Jr. or JJ would fail a drug test and the public find out about it I have a bridge to sell.

If their BAC is .40, a test will not be necessary.

Bad idea. Ganja stays in your fat cells for a month or more. while more dangerous substances such as cocaine, meth, opiates & liquor are out of your system in days
Jan Opperman is rolling in his grave....

"an appeal will follow the drug free sport protocal regarding the B sample and medical exception process"
thank god I didn't read that at first!!! Prescription and medical card from a Dr. for a medical exception correct??? so something prescribed by a Dr. in good standing will be respected i assume

I can't wait till some driver that everyone thinks is a saint, hits a joint after the races and gets caught the following week in a random screening. I'm gonna sit back and watch the fireworks, this promises to cause way more issues than all the drunk and drugged Outlaw drivers put together.

So is this a urine test? Frankly if it is, I don't think it should be. It should be a mouth swab. Swabs detect drugs within the last 4-5 hrs. Someone shouldn't get punished if they smoked some weed 25 days prior to race. This is going to be a train wreck.

Is this an admission by the World of Outlaws that they suspect certain drivers are under the influence or using drugs? Or maybe a way to shut up all the ultra conservatives who think it's OK to impeach someone's right to privacy because he happens to race a car for a living. Or maybe it's an insurance requirement. Or is this just more "safe space" bull shit, I mean when was the last time an on track death or injury was caused by a driver under the influence? So now we are testing just in case someone might be intoxicated and might wreck and might hurt someone. Never been an issue in all the years racing has existed, but NOW we need to test. Someone figured out how to make a buck by convincing the sheeple that we need this, enjoy.

now drivers form a union just like other sports....lawyers...etc.... why does everyone want more government???? why socialism??? Everyone wonders why only a very small few can afford to field a car. The founders would be ashamed of what sheep this country has become.... just another reason to stay home from what is becoming a mediocre event for the cost of admission anyways....

The reaction from the drivers on twitter has been positive about this policy. I think a majority of those full-time racers (regional or on a tour) are fully behind this. They make their living driving race cars and their lives are in the hands of every driver out there.
If a guy is a local racer and is under the influence, causes a crash and a guy gets hurt (or worse) you could be talking about the end of racing period.

Has to be blood. 2 reasons:
1. They do this all the time in CO, 5 nanograms of active TCH shows that you are "high", this drops off at a very quick rate by the hour/mins, so if you smoke yesterday and race today it will only show as a trace for up to 30 days. This isn't your standard work drug test.
2. Its would be hard to postpone a race because a driver getting tested can't piss.
