Thank you for speaking up.
I feel that the entire Kings Speedway group has plenty of room to grow. I believe that Mr Dias is making every attempt to run a good facility and a safe program, but this weekend was a product of poor planning.
To run multiple nights with with 3 & 4 classes but not to consider track prep a factor, not to mention the fact that vendors in the pits failed to supply enough tires to allow all team to be competitive. Is unfair to the people who raced as well as the fan who travelled and paid to be there.
The Vendor selling tires was out of SCRA right rears prior to the end of qualifying and ran out of left rears before the dashes. I would figure that the vendor did take in to account that there would be an issue with track prep, nor did they figure that a tire with an extremely hard compound would completely burn off in 8 laps, but guess what? It did.
I am willing to bet that even the winners didn't cover their expenses this weekend between tires, pit passes, & fuel. We had a pretty good weekend and I know we went in the hole.
As for the 3 D's, I hope that Mr. Dias understands that a track announcer can make or break a track. An announcer can be informative, educated, and keep the fans interested and returning to track race after race. Sadly, my understanding is that the 3 D's are lacking in those areas. Although I didn't hear it personally, my wife told me that one of them went as far as to make negative comments about drivers over the mike. This lacks all professionalism and 20 years ago might have gotta one of the D's a pop in the nose.
I bet that in his first year of race promotion Mr. Dias has learn a great deal, and some of the challenges he has had are in the past and others he is still battling. I do feel that you don't decide to become a race promoter, with the intention of doing a less than stellar job. I look forward to watch the kings speedway operation improve with the coming year and thank Mr. Dias for the attempt.
