Looks like another solid run by Shane Golobic. How about some 410 results.

410 results:
Wimmer, TK, Day and I think Bk. It was by far the worst night of racing that I have every witnessed. The A for the 410's ened at 12:02 am and it was follow the leader. Not one offical knew what was going on. It was a good idea, just poorly exicuted.....

I'll second that. That was the worst track conditions I've ever seen. Everyone was covered with dirt in the stands. You couldn't see, not just because of the dust, but the smoke from the burning rubber was so thick thats all you could see and the smell from the burning rubber was horrible. All the features were cut short and yes it did end a little after midnight.
Wandering the pits and talking to different race teams we were told they all went through an average of 6 to 8 tires that night.....at a whopping $200 plus per tire.
If you want to be a race promoter then do it right, learn about promoting a race, hire people that know what they are doing and learn how to prepare a track. You want racers to return then give them a decent racing surface and not a tire bill in the thousands for a feature shortened by 15 laps. It was awful watching favorites after favorites dropping out due to blown tires. After they paid to enter the race and buy all those tires they will all be in the hole if and when they receive the small checks listed in the payout. Want fans to return, treat them to a well run race from all aspects, good racing run in a timely planned format. I think Kings should contact the promoters of Chico and learn from them what to do.
Good luck if you think you are going to get a decent group of cars for the Cotton Classic.

Bummer....This sounds very much like my experience at the last
USAC-CRA/WAS show I attended at Kings. I love going to that place, but,
I cannot justify the 3+ hour drive from the bay area until they get
their act together with track conditions. I know those promoters
are trying hard, so, lets hope there's a lesson learned from this
weekend.

I understand the fans being upset about the conditions of the track on Sat, but I was not in attendance. I was there Friday though, and the track was extremely tacky, and fast, I thought the racing was great, and pretty well run on a timely manner. People need to realize something, I dont blame the promoter for not working the track to be so tacky on Sat. after wha happened to Jim Turner losing his life on Friday. I know the track being dry is not fun for the fans sometimes, and the tire bill can be costly for the car owners (believe me I know) I would not be surprised if some of the drivers wanted a little slower track on Sat. I am sure Hanford will get it right, they are trying, and I think the Open Wheel show was a good idea. We will be running the USAC show on Sat at Ventura, hope some of you Nor Cal fans make it down.
