Wow! If this isn't a conflect! I just now seen on OneDirt.com's website an article and video that has the WoO and the Chili Bowl running on the same dates in January. Taged the "Wild West Shootout" to be held at the Phoenix area Arizona Speedway, the series is sanctioned by WoO that includes a 6 race series from January 7th through the 15th. In the past at least 4 WoO drivers including locals Stewart and Pittman are regulars at the Bowl. Is this a mistake? Nothing is listed on Arizona Speedway or the WoO websites about this. If true, this will bave a huge affect on lots of plans. Does anyone else have information on this news?

Thats what I thought at first glance. However, go to onedirt.com. The video is all about sprint cars and nothing about late models. I'm confussed?

It's admittedly super odd advertising. There's no mention of the sprints actually racing there during Jan, and the press release from earlier in the year suggests that it is late models.
The ad seems to say "you wondered about how good the racing is here? Well here is some proof from cars who won't even be there in January" They even have the logo there.

The author of the release Ben Shelton is a Late Model guy isn't he? Whoever made the video screwed up.

If you go to the website and scroll down a bit, it says "M&W Transport Doubles Wild West Shootout Late Model Point Fund"
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

Well, I'm glad the pooch is screwed. However I would like to see something similar to that, that would take the place of the failed Winter Heat series, like maybe the WoO starting their season in Arizona in Febuary with back to back weekends.

WOO sprints or LM's would be a much better show than 2 gazillion midgets playing bumper cars on a small narrow indoor 1/5(?) mile.

I have, and I would much rather spend a week in Arizona watching WoO sprints or any 410 or 360 sprints than being inside some expo center on steroids watching midgets ( in January) however every one who likes sprint car racing, needs to go to the chili bowl once, it is a good time.

Wild west shootout is definitely a late model/modified race, very big one at that. Maybe there is some confusion with the Winter Heat or Winter Thaw (something of that nature) that is also run in Arizona. I can't remember the dates off the top of my head however.

Now that I think about though, I vaguely remember hearing that the Winter Heat was cancelled for this coming year. Anyway I digress.

Well thats just say it was true and those four drivers skipped the chili bowl. Hmmm pits are still jammed. 80ish cars each qualifying night -1. Maybe no need for the second N main this year. =
