The track you stated he collapsed on purpose had already pulled the plug on its life support system, his crowds were non- existent, his car count was pathetic, his purse has been stagnate for years, hell even the door bangers quit going. He dropped the 360 and he was done along with his attitude sealed his own fate. So get your facts straight, or do you help right the headlines for Fox News???? NSL goes away???? I don't really see any negatives except for the drivers paychecks.
What really amazes me is how everyone thinks that Brennan is the total bad guy and suddenly Tod is worshipped as a God. If anyone has hurt Knoxville its Tod and his NSL.....and his two track "NATIONAL SERIES with a couple others sprinkled in!!!""
I await the "bought NSL & Knoxville posters responses.....

Those who follow know the other track was already on the way out. Don't know about your stating everyone thinks Brennan is the total bad guy or your thought on that Tod is suddenly worshipped as God. But to many it is easy to see that Brennan doesn't care much about working together with others or for making things better for everybody. And there is no worshipping of Quiring, just a good understanding of those who follow sprint car racing that he has put a lot of money in to the sport long before he purchased Jackson and came up with the idea of the NSL. He did so before hand of course with sponsorships....in case you didn't know that.
One more thing.....I hope to shit that you aren't really a sponsor of any kind in sprint car racing. Anyone who would root for failure the way you do has shit for brains!

I agree with your asessment that Chuck's a great track prep person....I'm sure he's moving the dirt around all the time, and also that his knowledge of sprint cars is second to none.......I doubt anybody in the country knows less, so from that perspective, yep....he's number 1. Also.....he's not a promoter....he's a self promoter. There's a difference. And I too hope you enjoy the festival....but be sure to not choke on any bones.

I never said Tod's thing was good at this moment! If he wanted to pay 5,000.00 each Saturday @ Knoxville, he should have just bought that track and hired someone to run it as well. It isn't a traveling series anymore, I never said it was. The NSL may be hurting us overall, but I would bet they're working on that. The 5,000.00 to win each Saturday night is most definitely helping until Knoxville can get it's own ducks in a row and make our purse just as deep (sponsorships being acquired, etc.)
Biggest downside is we don't have someone with as much money as Chuck, because I can guarantee you if Knoxville had someone with that kind of money owning it, Husets would no longer exist. Knoxville could take a play from his playbook and have some concerts, and other events/series appearances. You've got a 30,000 seat venue and a huge infield and don't utilize it? Regardless, drivers are loyal in this sport (save a few) and fans are too, and a lot of them don't appreciate the way he went about things.
That's where I am coming from, I wish a lot of those drivers success, I can understand why most are driving there. For most, it's closer to home, why wouldn't they race there?
As for the field of cars..yes you had 37. But outside of a top 10 that is no deeper than Knoxville's group, who'd you really have? Some 360's driving with the 410's? Big deal.

There was only ONE 360 that was in the A on Saturday Night just to clarify. Also, Mark Dobmeier, Austin McCarl, Lynton Jeffery, and the Mack brothers are all pretty darn good racers that finished outisde the top 10.
Downside of someone without money? I guess the Nationals really doesnt make the track any money. Everyone is worried about what someone else is doing! Guess what you arent gonna make yourself better by worrying about your compition. Schatz shows up to a the track worries about his car and his team and well wins!
You have at one point a very professional person that is your annoucer at Knoxville that continues to bash and tarnish his name about Badlands. As someone who is and wants to be an Auto Racing Annoucer you think he wouldnt represent Knoxville in that way.
The tracks are 333 miles apart and you are making a huge tiff about it. HOWEVER Beaver Dam is 331 miles away yet nobody made a deal about that. Indy, PA, Ohio all race weekly and have no problems racing the same night and not complaining about each other.
Everyone dislikes badlands because he raised everything! Its time for others to follow suit or youll be out of business. No different if your a bar and a Buffalo Wild Wings comes into town. Well now that bar has wing nights, most sauces, and cheaper beers. Both end up doing just fine.
Knoxvile needs to step up or they will just be a Eldora of the Midwest in 2 years (which will happen anyways) and Jackson/Badlands will just have an awesome thing going on!

I have heard from drivers they don't like to run Knoxville all the time because its hard on motors. As a fan I would much rather go to a race at any 3/8 mile over any 1/2 mile. I think the racing is better.

Went to Knoxville Saturday and watched 3 classes of sprinters, saw some good racing, and was out of there at a decent time. No complaints here and as a fan don't really give a crap about the pissing match going on.

Agreed. I would like to see more cars, but if 18 - 410s and 20 - 360s put on that good of a show, I won't complain. There was some excellent racing to be seen in Knoxville. And getting over at a decent time is always a nice bonus!

I'm worried that sprint car racing as a whole will take a hit. You realize that the two states you're comparing this to have WAY more sprint cars right? They don't have any issues, there are 30 cars at every damn track out there and it's impressive.
Dobmeier only ran outside of the top ten because something broke, and he still got back to 11th with 6 laps left in that "stacked" field.
Not taking anything away from Austin and Lynton, they are good drivers. It does, but not as much as you think, especially to help support all the other nights out of the year. I do think they'll follow suit, just can't happen overnight because we don't have someone backing us with that money.
Like I've stated prior, I only wish something could have been worked out with the NSL/Jackson/Badlands/Knoxville to help everyone out.
It's an entire different set of cars, hardly any of the drivers @ Beaver Dam would race at Knoxville or Husets anyway? These are cars that did race at both tracks, T-Mac, A-Mac, Zomer, Lynton, Henderson, Kaeding..that could be doing both. And if the NSL would get it straight, could have been doing all three. And you can't get it through your head that if he was willing to provide this payout on a Sunday, since he doesn't care about money, that all the cars I mentioned earlier would do both.
I said that there were things that needed to change, but that's not what you've taken away from any of this. T-Mac's crew chief is a friend of mine and I'm married to his niece. I wish the McCarl' nothing but the best and would love to see Doug win a track championship up there. I've stated previously that it only makes sense for Henderson to be there, plus Zomer and Kaeding.
I'm all for improvement of the sport. You on the other hand, for some odd fucking reason, want to see one of the biggest and most prominent tracks in this sport, crumble.

I didn't know who Doug was.

Jackson runs Friday nights, Knox runs Sat night? Husets used to run Sunday nights so are you suggesting Knox run Sunday nights now? Help me understand. The NSL doesn't run Knox weekly so how will this help?

Why would you want other tracks to mimic how Chuck has handled his business? That would be the end of quality racing all together in the area. Give us an example of how Chuck cares about building up the racing in the midwest. He only cares about himself and his track out of greedy pride. You may not agree or like Tod, but at least he already had a plan in place that was intended to help build up the racing in the midwest. Maybe Knoxville should post a comparison of their car count at nationals to the Gold Cup to mimic Chuck's values.

Didn't type everything I meant to, but I don't like the fact that the NSL runs at two tracks with a few others here and there..shouldn't just be a two track series, in my opinion. While technically it isn't, 23 of 35 races are at two tracks, or something like that. It's not dumb, They could try and mix in mid-week shows, run other places..make it a true traveling series. The point fund dropped for the series from it's opening season to the very next one.
And no, I wasn't suggesting that. It's bigger than just Husets & Knoxville..Guy is going to kill racing in the entire area if he has his way, and everyone else seems to be okay with that.

So the guy that is killing racing has a series for sprint cars, owns a track and sponsers 4 sprint cars? (1 WOO 1 ASCOC 1 true outlaw and a 305. Ya, I can see how that is killing the midwest racing scene. Chuck owns a track, wow really helping the sport. Do you even think before you type? Also what do you care if 75% of the NSL races are at Jackson / Knox? How is that hurting the sport? Again, I'll ask how can the NSL "fix" it to support the 3 tracks each weekend? It can't because Husets switched to Saturday. Once again, I'll ask you to elaborate, should Knoxville change to Sunday? I'm pretty sure the point fund drop off is due to higher paying nightly purses which BTW pays better down low than Husets. We're basically talking about 6 cars here.
terry McCarl always raced both Places Carson now has a 360 car based 5 miles from badlands so I'm sure that's part of it for terry as well
Austin would much rather race Jackson and badlands because of motors etc..., and Austin has what....one maybe 2 Full full seasons at Knoxville? Otherwise he's been hit or Miss (Maybe this plays a part in Terry's decision as well)
Lynton has raced both but I heard he has a car owner somewhere up in Sioux Falls area (I could be wrong)
Henderson had a baby in Sioux Falls and I'm sure that plays a role with everything. Plus their tow money is the max coming from Newton.
Zomer BWW has had a scattered schedule the last couple years and they will absolutely NOT race an NSL show because Tod screwed that up
Kaeding (Lunstra) how many full full seasons have they had at Knoxville? They didn't last year!
Half of everyone don't like Terry anyhow so what do they care?
Half of everyone don't like BWW chief and bashes that team over the last few seasons, but now everyone's pissed cuz it ain't there.
Half of everyone always said Henderson never races anywhere but Knoxville the last 2-3 years or so but now everyone's heart broken cuz he's racing 12 miles from his House?
Lynton is best friends with TMAC, and has always been competitive at Husets. Heck Saturday night he set quick time and broke on the first lap of the A and left with $2,100. You're crazy if you wouldn't take that.
Paige polyak is based out of Minnesota and Loves racing badlands and has been competitive almost every time she's raced there dating back to last season when she set quick time with the NSL
Why is everyone making it sound like these 4-6 cars are the End-All, Be-All for Knoxville and the sprint car world in general? So you might've had 23 cars instead of 18 Last Saturday. Would we all be happy with 23 cars? Nope we will still ask why knoxville doesn't have enough cars for a B feature anymore.

People that don't really know may not understand how much more it costs to run big tracks versus small. If you don't have killer motors you aren't going to compete on big tracks. You don't need quite so much at smaller tracks. Those motors last longer at smaller tracks. Cars and parts take more abuse on big tracks than small. When you crash at a big track you likely need a whole new car. Not always at a small track. Lesser drivers and equipment have a much better chance for a better finish at a smaller track than big. If payout is the same or similar you'll almost always come out ahead on smaller tracks. Its just economics.

You realize I'm on Knoxville's side, right? I'd rather not see Knoxville go, considering I live about four hundred yards from the fairgrounds? Why do I care? Because the series is eventually going to go to shit if that continues to happen and there won't be a 5,000.00 to win race each Saturday night at Knoxville unless someone else steps up? How does that not make sense? Tod is helping the sport, I UNDERSTAND THAT. Jesus fucking christ. Do you think before you type? I didn't say Tod was, I said Chuck was, trying to monopolize up there.
But does the NSL need improving, hell yes it does. I know it pays better throughout the field. Do you think I don't watch racing to know what Tod does for it? Jesus man. I don't even care if Huset's is invloved, I think an actual traveling series with the potential to have 10-15 cars would be awesome.
How is it possible you might ask? Start by offering them a contract to sign, like a "platinum" deal with the outlaws, put the point fun back to what it was, and go from there. I do appreciate what he's done thus far, it's great, but there is room for improvement and hopefully it doesn't fold like the NST before it had a chance to take off.
