Enjoyed great racing and fanfare Friday and Saturday. Great night of racing, well ran, and over at a decent time.

Congrats to Terry on Friday nights win holding off Schatz.

I really enjoyed walking through the pits Before the races started Saturday. Great idea! It was hotter than blazes out but saw a lot of fans take advantage and get some hero cards signed and grab their favorite drivers tee shirts. It's nice to see the kids interacting with the drivers. I wish more dr1ver5 would be a little more personable though. I watched a driver stand at the end of his car, right over his hero cards, and just stand there. Wouldn't pick up the card and sign and make small talk when someone walked up, even with the kids but make whoever walk up, pick it up and hand it to him. Act like you appreciate the fans. I get some drivers are getting in "game face" mode, but act like you care. Most drivers were very cordial and appreciative.

Nice to see Dusty Zomer run Knoxville Saturday. Was a little suprised and but happy to see him stay around another day and thanked him for doing so.

I honestly think if it wasn't for that big pile up on Saturday that Schatz would not of won and it would of been Veal, Brown or Shane.

By the way, for as much as Veal has ran at Knoxville...he looked smooth and fast.

Hopefully Paul can get his confidence back up. He's had the worst luck of anyone I can remember.

Great weekend as always at Knoxville.

I have to agree, GREAT weekend at Knoxville all the way around! It was nice to hang arund the track more, kudos to Knoxville for doing more for the fans. The kids seemed to really enjoy going through the pits before the races. Thanks you Knoxville, there is NO place like it! Can't wait til the Nationals!

I watched DirtVision on Saturday and the crowd seemed good. Any indication how it was on Friday? I hope the 2 day deal continues but know that Friday is a tough night for Knoxville other than Nationals week.

DSC1600, the Friday crowd was like a regular Saturday night show. It was nice to see a good crowd in the huge grandstands Saturday. I'd guess maybe double the crowd Saturday compared to Friday.

Sounds like a "win" from both a fan engagement and racing perspective!  Good stuff.

As far as Schatz not being as fan friendly beforehand, I've never had a probem with him being anything less then cordial (not disputing your claim, which I understand) before races. Definitely has more of a "game face" on than some/most, but has always been kind when I've approached.

I think Veal hurt the engine or it was probably his race. Would have been cool for a Mccarl/Brown weekend

i wonder if our flagman would do a little better job of keeping them in line and not letting people flare out at the starts all that might not of happened

Love that Sammy pulled a very similar move to Ian on the restart after the red on Friday night and not a word was said.

Results oriented is fun! I've seen plenty of cars pull the move Ian did on Saturday and end up fine. It was unfortunate but I don't think the hate towards the 18 is justified. That move goes off without a hitch a high probability of the time.

Restart the race single file through a cone on the front stretch and all of that carnage doesn't happen.

The only extra excitement I've ever seen from using double file restarts is the not very appealing excitement of wondering how many cars are gonna get trashed.

it was a great weekend. Made the 560 mile ride out as I try to do several times a year and I've never been disappointed.
