MESERAULL THE WINNER AT LINCOLN PARK SPEEDWAY

Putnamville, IN - May 28, 2016 - Thomas Meseraull was the best of
the field Saturday night at the Lincoln Park Speedway. The
California driver put the Amati Racing - Shane Wade owned Marion
Underground sponsored Sprinter into victory lane at the conclusion of
the 25 lap MSCS feature. Other sponsors include Zeller Construction
and Pro Shocks.

The feature victory was the third of his career in the Midwest Sprint
Car Series. The winner’s check for the Saturday Night Special was
$2,500. Meseraull started third and maintained a slight lead over
pole sitter Kevin Thomas Jr. to seal the victory. At the finish
Thomas was just 1.2 seconds behind the leader.

C.J. Leary finished third in the event. He had set the overall fast
time of 13.622 to begin the evening. The podium finish propelled him
into the 2016 MSCS Points lead. The night’s group qualifying session
was delayed two hours when a storm moved in from the south. A deluge
hit the facility just after the pit gate opened to competitors.
Thirty-five sprint car drivers signed in to race. After the rain ended
the track crew worked diligently to restore the surface and make the race
happen!

Josh Hodges was fourth in the feature. The New Mexico driver has
made his return to race in Indiana. Hodges was followed in fifth by
track regular Brent Beauchamp. Brady Short was sixth which was good
enough to move him up to second in MSCS points. Chad Boespflug
brought the Hazen Sprinter in seventh. Shane Cockrum was eighth.
The top 8 cars finished on the same lap. Tyler Hewitt and J.J.
Hughes rounded out the top ten performers. South Dakota’s Bret
Mellenberndt picked up the Wilwood Tuff Brakes Award in finishing
eleventh.

The feature was interrupted on lap two by a red flag for a crash
after which Brandon Mattox’s o4 ride was towed back to the pit area.
Dylan Shaw’s spin in turn four brought about a late race restart
adding some anticipation to the finish. The Wilwood Tuff Brakes Hard
Charger of the Race was Mario Clouser. Clouser gained 9 spots
overall.

Heat winners included Kevin Thomas Jr., Nate McMillin, Thomas
Meseraull, and Brent Beauchamp. Bret Mellenberndt won the B Main
which is sponsored with a contingency prize from Racebumpers.Com.

The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will return to Lincoln
Park Speedway at mid-season for day two of the Bill Gardner
Sprintacular.
