Rossburg, Ohio - September 20, 2007...Defending USAC Silver Crown champion Bud Kaeding of Campbell, Calif will bring the Kaeding Performance, High Five Pizza, MDR Machine, MPD Racing Products, Bell Helmets, Puma No. 29 into Eldora this weekend with a 47 point lead in the current series standings. The 27 year-old throttle masher took the lead in the Silver Crown standings following the Bettenhausen 100 in August and will look to hang on to it for the final three races.
The 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway is one of the most prestigious events in all of USAC racing and Bud will be doing double duty during it on Saturday as he will also be aboard a USAC National Midget, in addition to his Silver Crown duties. Last year’s 4-Crown Nationals saw Bud finish seventh in the Silver Crown car and ninth in the sprint car portion of the evening.
Bud is also expected to take part in an autograph session on Saturday from 6:15-7 pm EDT in the multi purpose building located outside turns three and four on the Eldora Speedway grounds. Saturday’s Silver Crown main event will 50 laps and the National Midget main will be 25 laps in distance. After this weekend’s action Bud will be back on the track next Saturday with the USAC Silver Crown Series at the next to last event which takes place at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. Following Kansas the Silver Crown Series will take a hiatus until November 8th when it finishes up with the Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Raceway. This will give Bud the opportunity to compete on the West Coast for much of the remainder of the season.
The first weekend in October will see Bud compete in the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. The Campbell, CA driver won the Fall Nationals in Chico during his first two seasons behind the wheel of a sprint car, but hasn’t competed at the event in a number of seasons. For the weekend he’ll be at the helm of the Los Gatos Construction Company No. 20 owned by Werbach Motorsports. He’s also going to be driving the No. 20 machine at the Trophy Cup in Tulare on November 16 & 17. In addition to those events he’ll be taking part in the Oval Nationals at Perris and the Western World Championships at Manzanita, both events he has won in the past.
