And you hit the nail squarly on the head! Problem is, facts only confuse that segement of the Posse fans that will twist anything to favor the Posse teams. I'm glad that there are many thousands of Posse fans out there that are truly and vigorously loyal, that do see the end results for what they are......RACING. And when a Posse member does beat the Outlaws, I'm okay with it for those fans. As for the others, the whiners and braggarts, a little butt hurt is good for them!

I'm right there with you. Don't get me wrong, I would've been ecstatic to see DD, Marks, Hodnett or any of the locals get the win but at the same time, listening to a couple thousand simpletons boo Schatz for no damn reason other than they think that Posse vs. Outlaws is life or death brought a smile to my face. At that point, I was thankful that no matter who wins or where their mailing address is, I'm going to sleep just fine at night. I just want to see a good race race and may the best man win. If the best man is Donny, Joey, Pittman, or Brad Sweet instead of Hodnett, Lance, Danny or Marks it makes no difference to me. They're all great drivers and they all give us a show every time they unload and they all have WAY bigger balls than I ever will so they got my respect. People just need to lighten the hell up a little bit and realize this shit isn't life or death. It's just racing and they all respect one another so why should someone who is just a fan in the stands take it so damn personal? It's ridiculous.

I like this comment from Brent Marks:
"The rivalry between us means a lot because they're the best in the business and you have to race so much more aggressively against these guys because that's how they race, and it is really tough. Its respect on both sides, we race them hard and they race us hard back. It's cool, the fans are really into it and it's a cool atmosphere to be a part of and that's what makes racing in Pennsylvania so much fun when the Outlaws come into town."

& I like this one from Mr. Schatz:
"We want to win everywhere we go, but man when you come to Pennsylvania the fans here are feisty and you hear a lot of swear words directed to you - that's what this is about," Schatz said. "This is a free country and I am glad there are people who can voice their opinion that they hate you or love you."
I root against Donnie every time but have nothing but respect for him, don't like to hear him booed. But he's being a man about it....

Good question. My guess is they're living vicariously thru the drivers and/or have nothing else worthwhile going on in their lives...
Like you say I respect any of them for having the balls to participate in this crazy sport (tho I do question their sanity...)

Lol, Am a reading this right? Big Fat Rear left the almighty Lincoln Speedway after the dash draw cuz his favorite drivers didn't get the positions he wanted them to get? Lol, way to show em who's boss BigFatRear, you really taught them a lesson, you are a straight up badass.
"Hey Woo and Lincoln, I'll pay for my ticket, but dammit if this night dosnt go exactly the way I want it, I'm gonna freaking go home bitches! So deal with that!"
WARNING: Don't mess with Big Fat Rear or he will go home!

Lincoln tends to drop the ball on track prep for its bigger events. I remember there was a lot of talk about the rubber down condiitons at the 1st DIRT classic, and their USAC shows have left alot to be desired. The WoO takes the blame (of course) but this isn't the 1st time the track has been less than ideal. That said, I'll stand by it, the A Main was solid.

Lincoln hasn't actually ran a usac feature in quite a few years...they have been scheduled but rained out....
poor track conditions are due to the track being pounded 2 nights in a row...Wednesday did it in...

I was 1 of those disatisfied spectators at the not so Fabulous Lincoln Speedway. I have no problem with the winner, my biggest gripe is that they did nothing from Wednesday to Thursday to make the track racier. The only way to make a cushion so the top is racy is prepare it for a faster surface early in the evening. Dust in warm ups are not condusive to building a top to race on. Have been going there since the mid 60's so I have seen what the place is capable of.
This year the track conditions have been less than favorable for having a good top to race on. I could care less who wins, but would like to see conditions available for more possible passing. Not sure who is posting there was alot of passing from 3rd on back, but only a few cars advanced more than 2-3 spots. If that is alot of passing, I will pass on the next huggy pole invitational!!!

Track prep is a total mystery to me, but it seems like Pa. tracks get racier later in the summer.... is it less rain & more heat?

You could always come to Port Royal and see a good track surface and good racing for less money on Memorial Day Weekend for the Bob Weikert Memorial.

For a first time visit to lincoln ......there where some things i liked and disliked
those concrete step bleaches need to go ...... my back still hurts
the guy selling the barbacue should sell that at the grove .....that was the best race track food i ever had
some guys said the track was bad ......i have been to the Big E and we couldn't see the cars for the dust so it wasn't that bad
easy in and out of the track .... need some signs on route 30 for the rookies who haven't been there yet
what a game WOO was playing on wed.... more hot laps knowing they where going to cancel.....come on stop wasting our time.
the race would of got interesting if it was 40 laps double D was on the way....but as lynn paxton told me today getting there is one thing and passing him would of been a another.
will i go back.... hell yea..... great place to watch racing
went to the emmr today loved the stories and all the history there ....if you have never gone there its worth the trip
thanks to all of the great posse fans that talked to me this weekend .....it was a blast
contrary to beliefs..... they are not all assholes ..........there are a bunch that are fun to be around
