Excellent article as usual,Bill. I wasn't here to hear those two announce, but can relate to what you are saying. We race fans want to be entertained, but not non stop. We only see some of our racing friends once a week during race season. We need some time to visit and catch up on things.
We do enjoy hearing you on the mic when we get the chance. Good luck with your new venture.

I remember as a kid a buddy of mine knew him. We would go up and help him spot the action. Today everyone can just look at a scoring monitor but back then it wasn't that easy. He had this magnetic board as I remember it. He would have magnets with tape on them with every driver. As the race was happening me and my buddy would watch certain cars and rearrange the magnets as the passes happened. He could look down and see the running order. Man, what ever happened to the good old days.

Those 2 guys were great. Tim was just "magic" on the mic and not only called sprint car races, but modifieds, hobby stocks and various other classes a couple other nights every week for races his brother Mick promoted.
During Nationals when Jack Miller and other guest announcers were added to the mix, it was even better. Those guys worked together like they did it everyday even though they only saw each other once a year.
Sad I missed the video tribute as I was with my son on a Boy Scout Adventure last weekend. Would be a great addition to the Raceway's website or youtube page I would imagine.
