Held remains fourth in ASCS Northwest points after rainouts
ALK Promotions, June 9th
Rob Held went into the past weekend tied for fourth place in the ASCS Northwest Region standings. Following the weekend, he remains in the exact same position in the standings with the same number of points after Friday’s event at Willamette Speedway and Saturday’s event at Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon were both cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Sutherlin, Oregon driver is coming off a pair of top-ten finishes in the ASCS Northwest Region’s season opening double-header at Grays Harbor Raceway on Memorial Weekend. Driving the Held Racing No. 68 J&J sponsored by John Carroll Construction, Double R Powder Coating, Powell Plastering, FK Rod Ends, Ringers Gloves and Bell Helmets, Rob finished ninth in the opening night feature on Saturday, May 24th and tenth on Sunday, May 25th.
Held sits only 30 points back of leader Seth Bergman. Held resumes ASCS racing in July when the Northwest Region kicks off the annual Northwest Speed Week on Monday, July 14th at Southern Oregon Speedway near Medford to begin six straight nights of racing at five different tracks in Oregon and Washington. Held plans to get an early look at the 1/3-mile clay oval this coming Saturday night when the 360 sprint cars take to the track in weekly competition.
