Press Release Submitted by BigDog on 06/28/2007 at 7:01 AM Send To Friend | Report Press Release
OSKALOOSA, Iowa (June 27) — The USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series at the Southern Iowa Speedway featured four classes with the night being sponsored by Pro-Line Buildings of New Sharon, along with the "Preacher Feature" on the card. The fans got a chance to win some cool prizes from the Pro-Line Buildings gang who gave away T-shirts, hats and other items.

In the USRA B-Mod feature, Brett Moffitt of Grimes led all 10 laps for the win with West Des Moines driver Mike Giles taking the second spot, followed by Andrew Schroeder in the third spot and Paul Underwood in fourth.

The MUSCO Lighting USRA Modified feature was won by Ron Ver Beek of Oskaloosa holding of Zack VanderBeek for the win. After the feature, Ver Beek thanked his crew and all the people who help on his machine along with the Pro-Line team who sold him a very good Skyrocket Chassis. VanderBeek took the second spot followed by Richie Gustin Jr. of Gilman in third and last week's winner, Scott Dickey, working his way from 10th to finish fourth.

In the USRA Hobby Stock feature, Mike Shelton of Ottumwa paced the field the first 12 laps of the 15-lap event before Jason McDaniel of Eldon passed Shelton on the bottom of turn 4 for the lead. McDaniel went on to take his second straight win at Osky with Shelton taking the runner-up spot, followed by Bill Gibson of Knoxville in third with fourth going to Don Nunnikhoven of Sully, who raced his way from the back after a crash on the first lap.

The USRA Stock Car feature was a good one with Bert McDaniel Jr. of Eldon leading the field for the first 15 laps before losing the lead to defending track champion Brad Pinkerton of New Sharon, who crossed the line to take the checkers first. McDaniel took the second spot with Pat Rachels of Knoxville, who led lap 4, settling for the third spot with Matt Greiner of Washington in fourth. Pinkerton and the Pro-Line Buildings team donated their winnings to an eight-year-old boy from New Sharon who is battling cancer.

The "Preacher Feature" was a thriller featuring side-by-side action with Brent Myer taking the win from Phillip Westra, who lost the lead on the final lap to Myer. After winning last year, Myer made it two win in a row driving the Joe and Sharon Ferguson Stock Car for the First Church of the Nazarene of Oskaloosa.

There will be fireworks in the air and on the track at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on the Fourth of July as the 14th Annual Greiner Buildings Stock Car Shootout presented by Mike's Tire & Alignment and PBM Performance Products takes place at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster. USRA Stock Car drivers will be battling for a whopping $2,000 to win and $100 to start the evening's main event. Also on the card will be USRA B-Mods ($200 to win) and USRA Hobby Stocks ($500 to win), along with the MUSCO Lighting USRA Modifieds. A huge fireworks show provided by the City of Oskaloosa will take place after the races.
