Jason Meyers Tightening
Points Race with World Finals in Sight
Pleased to Announce the Birth of First
Daughter, Delaney Paige
CLOVIS, Calif. (September 23, 2007) – Jason Meyers and the
Elite Racing World of Outlaws (WoO) team did not have the weekend they hoped
for during the American Revolution Weekend presented by Chevrolet at Eldora
Speedway. However, the WoO points race
keeps getting tighter, and Meyers knows that it will come down to the final
race weekend of the season, the World Finals at the Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor
Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.
FINAL WOO RACE AT ELDORA SPEEDWAY FOR 2007
After winning at Eldora earlier this season and
having a solid run during the King's Royal, Meyers and Elite Racing were
looking forward to their return to the famed, half-mile, high-banked speedway
located in Rossburg, Ohio.
Struggling in practice, Meyers and crew chief
D.J. Lindsey knew they would have their work cut out for them, especially as
they were qualifying later in the field.
Qualifying eighteenth, less than a half-second
off of the pace set by Ed Lynch, Jr., Meyers would line up fifth in the second
heat. Getting a good run coming off of
turn four on the start, another competitor came down the track and Meyers would
have to get out of the throttle and would finish his heat race in fourth
position, which would put him outside of the Crane Cams Dash.
Starting seventeenth in the A-Main event, Meyers
would be as high as fourteenth, but just could not make his way closer to the
front than that, finishing eighteenth after the thirty lap event.
"It's a very frustrating night, very
frustrating," said Meyers. "Our car just wasn't working well – nothing we threw
at it worked – all we can do is regroup and look forward to Orange County Fair
this week and of course, the William's Grove National Open."
