Bill Balog and his B2 Motorsports team headed to the
Sheboygan County Fair Park this past Saturday for the sole IRA event of the
weekend. Bill timed in with a lap time of 12.108 seconds, good enough for 3rd
quick out of 40 cars present.
The 17B would line up
in 6th place for the start of heat race #3. Bill wasted little time
at the drop of the green and was in 2nd place by the end of lap 2.
Then all he had to do was wait for the race leader to make a mistake & when
it happened, Bill drove around him and drove away from the field to capture his
2nd heat race win of the year.
With a 5 pill drawn
for the feature line up, the B2 Motorsports 17B would start the 30 lap feature
from 10th place. As the field was being pushed track side for the
main, the threatening skies began to drizzle on the track. As the green flag
flew, Bill would begin his battle to move forward; as the laps clicked away
Bill had moved himself into the 8th spot. On lap 20 the skies opened
up & the race was red flagged. After a brief delay the decision was made to
cancel the remaining 10 laps. So Bill was credited with an 8th place
finish on the night. Bill commented afterwards that he was hoping for an open
red during the rain delay, as he wanted to make changes to the 17B ride that
would have hopefully helped bring home a solid top 5 finish.

17B will be back in action this Friday July 3rd at the Dodge County
Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI for the 8th Annual Sue Thiel Memorial.
