I know that there are never any posts on here about the Micro's but I wanted to take one to let you in on a young driver from our are that has had a great season, no matter what class he has been running. Anyway, if you don't want to read it, that's OK. You are welcome to read or just skip over it.
Felker Dominates Non Wing Nationals
Andrew Felker continued an unbelievable season as he dominated this past weekend's Non Wing Nationals at Port City Raceway in Catoosa, Oklahoma.
The Missouri youngster started off the weekend by showing his strength in his Stock class heat as he started in the 7th position and quickly moved to the front of the field to capture the win. The heat race victory gave him an outside front row starting spot for the preliminary feature.
He jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green and never looked back, as he led the distance to take win number 22 on the season over a 45 car field on Friday night.
Felker then moved to the Outlaw class, with the same stock car, where he started on the pole for his preliminary heat race. He made good with the front row starting position and led flag to flag to capture his heat race victory. However, the heat win only allowed him a third row starting spot for the feature event. He would fall into line behind eventual winner Scott Sawyer and Chris Andrews to settle for third spot in the opening night main event.
Saturday night in the Stock class he kept his perfect weekend in tact as he capture the win in the Dash for Cash which gave him the pole position for the main event. He jumped out front as the green flag flew and proceeded to lead every lap of the Stock feature, completing a sweep of the weekend and increasing his feature win total to 23.
In the Outlaw dash, Felker started third on the grid and patiently worked the bottom groove to get to the front and take the win.
When feature time rolled around for the premier division, Felker fell into line behind Sawyer during the early stages of the race. After 8 laps, Andrew moved to the middle of the track, where nobody else could run, and made his way around Sawyer to grab the top spot. Once past the early leader, he moved his Factor One mount with MoMo's power back to the bottom of the track and began to pull away. He survived
three late race caution's but still motored out to a half straightaway advantage when the checkered flew. The victory was number 24 on the year and gave him bragging rights as one of very few drivers that have won two classes at the Non-Wing Nationals.
The 66 Truck and Foreign Salvage team move now to Thursday's ASCS2 event which will take place during the ASCS Sprint Bandits TNT at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, OK.
Felker racing would like to thank all of their sponsors for their support: 66 Truck and Foreign Salvage, MoMo's Racing Engines, Factor One Chassis, Hoosier Racing Tires, Allen Sign Studio, Auto Express, Keizer Aluminum Racing Wheels, Advanced Racing Suspension and Mychron. Keep up with all of the results by checking out our new website at www.andrewfelker.com.
Thanks,
Sweeton
