NATIONAL SPRINT CAR HALL OF FAME NAMES 2007 NOMINEES; INDUCTEES TO BE ANNOUNCED IN MID-JANUARY AT CHILI BOWL

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (November 30, 2006) - The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa, is pleased to announce the nominees for it’s induction ‘class of 2007’. Of the thirty-five (35) nominees listed on the final ballot, twelve individuals will be elected in late December, announced in mid-January, and officially inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon, June 2, 2007, during the eighteenth annual ceremonies on the Marion County Fairgrounds. The nominees are:

Drivers: Bobbie Adamson, Johnny Anderson, Tony Bettenhausen (Sr.), “Tiger” Gene Brown, Bob Burman, Shane Carson, Jerry “Scratch” Daniels, Sam Hoffman, Jackie Holmes, Rajo Jack, Kenny Jacobs, Bayliss Levrett, Hal Minyard, Lee Osborne, Johnnie Parsons (Sr.), Frank Riddle, Joe Sostilio, Earl Wagner, Rip Williams.

Owners-Mechanics-Builders-Manufacturers-Car Sponsors: Jack Elam, Earl Gaerte, Jack E. Gallivan, Bob Hampshire, Doug Howells, Joe Jagersberger, Glen Neibel, Louis Senter.

Promoters-Officials-Media Members-Event/Series Sponsors: Ken Coles, Frankie DelRoy, Louis “Rusty” Espinoza, Emmett Hahn, Dick Jordan, John Padjen, Emmett Shelley, Bill White.

According to National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation executive director Thomas J. Schmeh, “The 72-member National Induction Committee continues to do a great job with the two-step nomination and election process. We have outstanding nominees from coast-to-coast and border-to-border on the final ballot, truly some of the greatest achievers in the sport of sprint car racing. I look forward to announcing the twelve names of the ‘class of 2007’ at the Tulsa Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in mid-January.”
