CALIFORNIA LIGHTNING SPRINT CARS CLOSE SEASON THIS WEEK AT BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS!

(Placentia, CA, November 2, 2011) The California Lightning Sprint Car Series will bring down the curtain on a highly successful 2011 season this Friday and Saturday night at the 16th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway. The CLS will contest three heats on Friday with a 15-lap main event (time permitting). On Saturday, they will race the final 20-lap main event of the year (and, if needed a B main event).

The weekend's show will feature the crowning of a brand new CLS champion. 51-year-old Tim Brown of Wildomar has parlayed a season of top five finishes and one main event win into the 2011 title. Defending series champion Jarrett Kramer of Spring Valley, teenage racer Alexander Bisset of Hemet and longtime veteran Dan Hillberg of Placentia pretty much have the second through fourth spots locked up heading into Saturday's finale.

Positions five through eight will be a dogfight to Saturday's final checkered flag. Only 68-points separate fifth-place Dale Gamer of Anaheim and Imperial Beach's Dan Lancaster who is eighth. Tucked in between in sixth and seventh are impressive rookie Stephen Limon of Corona and veteran Paul Krueger of Buena Park.

In addition to the strong cast of regulars set to square off on Saturday, two-time CLS champion Brent Sexton of Lakeside will be making a rare 2011 racing appearance. BCRA stars Cameron Beard and Brian Corso are also expected to travel down from Northern California to participate in the prestigious race.

The California Lightning Sprint Car Series would like to thank 2011 series sponsors Christian Stover Foundation, Circle Track Performance, DJ Safety, Electro Tech Powder Coating, Elliott's Powder Coating, DK Machine and Fabrication, Hoosier Tires, Keizer Wheels, Performance by Rosson Racing, Racing Optics, Rod End Supply, Saldana Race Products and Sander Engineering. If you or your company would like to become part of the California Lightning Series for the 2011 season, please call Dan Hillberg at: (714) 719-0295.
