Since we no longer have trophy dashes , and the racing program go so swiftly and smooth ...How about an all-star race at the end of the year either during the last race or at the winternationals ! By invitation only ...allow feature winners for that entire season eligable to enter and allow top dogs from around the state also enter ...Let em go 15-20 laps for a 25 -50 $$ trophy what would that hurt?
I think it would be pretty fun ...what are you all's thoughts and opinions ?? If we can get enough people that want it maybe we can bring it up to the right people ....hmmmm
winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

I can see takin the feature winners from throughout the year.........but not sure bout lettin the other "top drivers" race. How can you accurately determine who the other "top" guys are. I would think it best not leave that up to speculation or opinion.......so you would need a way to determine it.

Not a new idea. Over 20 years ago, Larry Hill had the Coca Cola Race of Champions for all the champ car track champs from around the region. I think the NCRA champ was also invited. Lots of fun.

Or take the points champion from each track. That way there is no confusing who is the top.

The race of champions was the best race of the winter nationals back in the day. It pretty much made the whole trip for me.
Also the Dash for Cash Tulsa used to have in the early 80's was a blast. Usually $500+ to win, winner take all, it was 6 laps for the top 5 in points from the previous month.
It got so competitive, that towards the end, the Crawfords, Emmett and Stone would bring another car to just run the Dash. It was a shame when they stopped having them, I bet an extra 500 people showed up on those nights.

lol. makes no difference to me. But if something like that were to happen........it would be nice to see it done fairly (correctly).
And BTW.......if it is factory stocks we are talkin about........I highly doubt ANYONE is gonna come in and kick the SFS regulars ass...........

In '86, we were short on champ cars most of the season. The
first night of the season, Larry asked me what I thought of a three
car/three lap match race for $300 winner-take-all. It was a
success so we decided to do it every week. I became the matchmaker. It was my job to use
the lure of that race to get some out of city/state drivers to pull to
OKC. I tried to match equal experience/equal equipment every week
so we didn't have any Bob Ewell/Jett Starr/Bert Woodring races.
The fans loved them so much that on Tuesday of race week we were taking
calls as to who was going to race that Friday. It created a lot
of excitement.
The biggest of the match races pitted the winners from the first ten
weeks of the season in a ten car/ten lap race for $1000
winner-take-all. Lawter and Pitts chipped in another $500 to make
it $1500 for the winner.
Now the trivia question: Who won that 10 lap race? (Dave, you don't get to play). This should be easy for some of the posters on this board.

Does the winner of that race laugh REALLY loud?
Also, I think that there was a Jett Starrrrr mention in this post. Automatic post of the year!
