Hi, I’m exploring using a pressure washer from karcher to
wash cars. I understand that one can attach a foam lance to it so that it can
dispense detergent. Would washing a car this way without the use of any mitts
be clean?
Essentially, I use the high pressure spray nozzle to wash
off dirt, and then attach the foam / soap lance followed by another final spray
down via the pressure washer.
Appreciate any thought from enthusiast who may have tried this technique.
Thanks in advance!

If whatever you're washing has "old" grime on it and you want it "white glove" clean you probably won't be happy without using a mitt or brush of some sort.
If you're not anal then yes it will get it clean the same as any drive through car wash that only uses pressurized hot water with soap, only you'll be able to spend more time where its dirty. Preferably get a hot water washer, hot water helps a LOT.
Do NOT put hot water into the pump unless you know for a fact that the pump is made for hot water. Most pumps are not made for hot water and it will ruin the pump rather quickly. On a hot water washer the water is heated after it goes through the pressure pump.
If you're new to using a pressure washer be careful you don't remove paint. Stay under 2000 psi for sure, under 1500 psi would be pretty safe as long as you use a flat fan tip.

Soft and hot water both help majorly... Having worked in the truck washing business (Blue Beacon for roughly 5 years) I also know how you bend the wand can help majorly. Go look at what those guys use... much better than any local car wash wand.

It’s good to use pressure washer to clean your car but don’t use high
pressure spray nozzle because it could scratch and take off paint. Always try
to spray from some distance.

Definitely don't use a high pressure spray nozzle on your car, it may take away some of the paint or chrome. I know this from past experience unfortunately. Just another fact too is be careful of the soap you use, because dish washing soap can take away the paint as well.

we use poweer washers all the time with good results. Do not spray hard at areas that have seals and bearings like front axels, rear end and power steering shaft
