Ventura Raceway returns to action this Saturday with VRA Sprints, Senior Sprints, VRA Dwarf Cars, IMCA Modifieds and our two junior classes Mini Dwarf Cars and Junior Midgets. Racing will get under way at 5:30 for our adult classes.

Johnathon Henry is coming off his first win on April 14. He is the first ever rookie to win a VRA Main Event. He will be challenged by the best VRA has to offer led by point's leader Kevin Kierce. Others scheduled to appear include Greg Taylor, Steve Conrad, 2006 champion Luis Espinoza, Dennis Rodriguez, Eric Severson, Rick Hendrix, John Knock, Brandon Thomson, Dwayne Marcum and a host of other top notch 360 sprint car drivers.

VRA Seniors will be led by point's leader and past champion Wiley Miller he moved into the lead at the last event when Steve Stasa had a bad night and fell to third in th points behind Miller and Bob Alderman.

In VRA Dwarf Car action it will be point's leaders Ed Niedzwiecki in Seniors and Jim Scribellito in Pros leading the way as these racers return to action after their last race on April 14.

IMCA Modifieds have put on some great races so far in 2007. Ever increasing car counts and quality racing has been the norm so far. This weekend we expect a continuation of this. Randy McGraw, just of a win at Santa Maria Speedway will be back to challenge points leader Steve Smith, 2006 champion Jack Parker and the rest of the drivers in this exciting class.

Our final classes racing this weekend are our growing kids classes of Mini Dwarfs and Junior Midgets. These classes for young drivers have shown constant improvement as the year has progressed. Point leaders Ricky Lewis in the Piston Class and Tyler Jerman in the Super Charger Class lead the Mini Dwarfs. Ramon Rivas leads the Junior Midget contingent.

Our pits open at 12 noon on Saturday with front spectator gates opening at 3:00pm. The Junior classes take to the track at 3:30 for their heat races followed by adult warm ups at 4:00 and racing at 5:30. Admission for this event is $14.00 for adults, $11.00 for Seniors/Military and Juniors, $5.00 for kids 7-12 and Kids 6 and under are free with a paid adult admission. for more information, please call Ventura Raceway ar (805) 985-5433.

Ventura Raceway also wants to remind its fans and drivers that we added a race for VRA Sprints, Senior Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, Sport Compacts and Junior Ford Focus Midgets on May 12, due to the cancellation of the Monster Truck event.
