Tracy Hines was injured riding a motorcycle in Indiana. He has a fractured pelvis and some leg injuries. Hines is one of two drivers (with Levi Jones) in the USAC sprint car series with Tony Stewart Motorsports. Today (May 1st) is also is also Tracy's 35th birthday.
No word yet as to who Stewart will tab as the driver to replace Hines. Get well soon Tracy!

Tracy Hines Injured in Off-Track Accident
INDIANAPOLIS (May 1, 2007) – Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) driver Tracy Hines was injured in an accident on the evening of Monday, April 30 on his Indiana property.
The 35-year-old from New Castle, Ind., crashed while riding his off-road motorcycle. Hines was transported via helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he underwent surgery to repair a fractured pelvis, fractured left femur and a dislocated right knee. He is currently listed in stable condition.
Hines drives the No. 21 TSR/Chevrolet entry in the U.S. Auto Club (USAC) National Midget and Sprint Car Series and the No. 22 TSR/Chevrolet machine in the USAC Dirt Silver Crown Series.
“We’re grateful that Tracy is going to be OK,” said Tony Stewart, team owner. “All we’re concerned about is his health. We’ll give him and his family all the support they need to ensure a full and successful recovery.”
The Hines family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have called and offered prayers of support.

We are very sorry to hear that Tracy Hines was injured in a motorcycle accident on his own property. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he is able to continue his racing career.

I wish the best to Tracy.
I was involved in a bad wreck that broke just my leg, it was extremely
painful, luckily my cruiser saved my life. I cannot imagine the pain he must be feeling. Hopefully he has a quick recover. One can only image what would be going
through his mind lying in bed for so long. He could only wonder if this is a sign from
the powers above, paying him back for all of the bad choices he has made
driving sprints and midgets rough and recklessly. To anyone
that sees Tracy,
please relay my condolences, and wish him a speedy recovery.

That's some sick stuff "speedy". Powers above paying him back? If that's true then your post should put you next in line.
Now when Rich Vogler got himself killed (I loved mad dog) a lot of guys said "at least the he didn't take one of us with him" but I doubt anyone said God was punishing him for driving like the devil himself was on his tail. Kenny

Big Fish, I think pt meant that in a good way. Hines is probably one of the best all around pavement/dirt drivers currently active, I doubt this will keep him out of action very long, maybe 3 or 4 months, keep your fingers crossed.

According to Tracy's wife Crista, the doctors put screws in his pelvis and left femur,they said the healing time for those injuries will be about 2 months considering his age and fitness.The main problem is his right knee, which was completely exploded and the doctors said would have to be replaced with a cadaver's knee joint.That surgery will take place as soon as a replacement is found,she said that is a good chance that Tracy will be released from the hospital this weekend.He has some of the very best orthopedic surgeons working on him and if all goes well should be back in race car in about six months,the doctors suggested that when that time comes he should start out in a pavement sprint car for awhile,then the dirt sprint car and last the midgets ( due to the cramped confines of a midget). He's in good spirits,but knowing Tracy he's not going to be very happy till he's back up on his feet and racing again.

Really? Tell me then, I'm JUSTWONDERING how THAT can be in a good way? I don't know the guy, maybe he has other admirable quality's but that was what it was....................................

I'm just guessing here, and only PT can say for sure, but I took it as like if a card player bluffed a lot and won all the time, that someday in a big game he might bluff and lose it all, that's how I took the post. While I'm here, I see that the late models are at Perris again, sure was a good show last time. Plus there was a post somewhere that said Kirby was going to race too, I'm not able to make it unless I can get out of town at the last minuet but sure will give it a try.
