Troy Wondra is shaking down a good looking 360 tonight, before his campaign at Plymouth.

Cainen Riemann is running a 360 power plant.

Gleason smacked an infield water barrier low in turn 3 and gasses it out of turn 4 only to lose control with front end damage on his warm-up lap. He 2-wheels it on the front stretch and does a good job keeping it from rolling over. Team was able to make repairs and takes 1-lap a the end.

Bartz drops out of gear out of turn 2 on his initial qualification attempt. He takes 1-lap at the end.

Mock takes only qualification lap after he scrubs it off turn 2 and heads pit side.

Weld Wheels Heat (8 Laps) Top-5 Transfer
1. Dave Uttech [1]; 2. Steve Meyer [3]; 3. Bill Warren [2]; 4. John Sernett [4]; 5. Travis Whitney [6]; 6. Wayne Modjeski [7]; 7. Ty Bartz [8]; 8. Joe Symoens [5].

Uttech lead the distance. Field was situated and ran mostly single file through 5 laps. Lap-6: Uttech slides just wide enough out of turn 4 to allow Meyer to close in on the frontstretch, and nearly touch. Lap-7: Yellow flag for Bartz, spins to a stall in turn 3. Green-White-Checker finish as Bartz makes the only pass.

MPD Race Products Heat
1. Jason Johnson [2]; 2. John Haeni [5]; 3. Donny Goeden [4]; 4. Dave O’Neal [1]; 5. Bill Wirth [3]; 6. Tim VanDerVere [7]; DNF-Mike Kertscher [6]; DNF-Howie Gleason [8].

Johnson lead the distance. Gleason drops out early. Lap-4: Haeni takes 3rd out of turn 2. Kertscher is all over the track sawing on the wheel and is stuck behind Wirth since the start. Lap-8: Just as Kertscher spins to a stop in turn 4-Haeni, Goeden and O’Neal are 3-wide at the line.

VMAC Racing Heat
1. Brian Kristan [6]; 2. Billy Hafemann [2]; 3. Kim Mock [3]; 4. Tommy Sexton [5]; 5. Todd King [4]; 6. Andy Hunt [1]; 7. Cainen Riemann [8]; DNF-Ryan Irwin [7].

Start: Irwin loses the handle and shoots across the inside of the track to the wall on the front stretch and smacks the personnel gate below the flag stand backwards. Hard hit, but he was Ok.Restart: Kristan did not take off and coasts to a stop in turn 4 near the work area entrance gate. After a mechanical check, he was able to restart at the tail. Restart #2: 3-Wide into turn 1 between King, Hafemann and Hunt leaves King into the lead out of turn 2 as Hunt falls backwards. King loses his lead to Hafemann out of turn 4 after he busts a huge 90 degree wheelie. Lap-3: Kristan has powered back through the field and running side-by-side for a lap with Hafemann and will take the lead at the stripe.

Behling B Feature (12 Laps) Top-4 Transfer
1. Mike Kertscher [1]; 2. Tim Sernett [3]; 3. Joe Symoens [2]; 4. Any Hunt [4]; 5. Troy Wondra [5]; 6. Howie Gleason [10]; 7. Russel Borland [9]; 8. Cainen Riemann [11]; DNF-Tim VanDerVere [6]; DNF-Wayne Modjeski [5]; DQ-Ty Bartz [8]; DNS-Ryan Irwin [7].

Irwin does not make the start. Tough night in the new Maxim he won from the banquet. Initial start: Modjeski stalls out on the bottom of turn 2 and was towed to the work area, but done for the night. Restart: Bartz loops and stalls between turn 1-2. He was able to restart. Restart: Kertscher immediately asserts himself over Sernett, Symoens, Hunt and VanDerVere. Lap-3: Yellow flag for Bartz, stalls out in the same place as previous, 2 unassisted spins and you are done for the race. As VanDerVere was able to take 4th out of turn 2, Restart was called back by IRA Officials. Once racing finally got going, Kertscher was cruising and hit traffic on Lap-4. The Top-4 were running single file and separated out enough to safe themselves in transfer positions. Lap-9: VanDerVere smokes an engine and loses 5th.

A Feature (25 Laps)
1. Mike Kertscher [11] $2,000; 2. Donny Goeden [4]; 3. Scott Young [14]; 4. Scott Biertzer [1]; 5. Travis Whitney [10];
OFFICIAL FINISHING ORDER INCOMPLETE AS OF POSTING: Dave Uttech [2]; Jason Johnson [3]; John Sernett [5]; Brian Kristan [8]; Scott Neitzel [9]; Joe Symoens [12]; Tim Sernett [13]; Steve Meyer [16]; Bill Warren [19]; Billy Hafemann [21]; Troy Wondra [22]; DNF-Andy Hunt [23]; DNF-Todd King [15]; DNF-Tommy Sexton [6]; DNF-Scott Uttech [20]; DNF-Bill Wirth [17]; DNF-Mike Reinke [18]; DNF-John Haeni [7]; DNF-Dave O’Neal [24].
Alternate: Howie Gleason.
Lap leaders: Dave Uttech 1-3, Donny Goeden 4-11, Mike Kertscher 12-25.

Mock did not make the call, replaced by Wondra. Start: D. Uttech takes the initial lead into turn 1 and around the track followed by Goeden, Biertzer, Whitney (with a great start), Sexton and Kristan. O’Neal ducks into infield and not completing the lap. Lap-4: Goeden takes the lead out of turn 2 on the high side. As the field comes through turn 4, Uttech receives more insult as he spins and stalls between turns 3-4 and the yellow slows the field.
Running order: Goeden, Biertzer, Whitney (from 10th), Sexton, Kristan, Young (from 14th), Kertscher, Symoens, J. Sernett, Haeni in the Top-10. Then King, Reinke, Johnson, Neitzel, Meyer, T. Sernett, Wirth, Warren, Hafemann and D. Uttech ….Restart: Kertscher has powered into 4th. Lap-6: Out of turn 4, Kertscher and Whitney touch wheels in which the No. 9 is nearly sent sideways and loses a couple of positions as Kertscher is now 3rd. Lap-8: Kertscher takes 2nd out of turn 4 from Biertzer. Lap-9: Red flag for Haeni, flips in between turns 1-2. He was Ok, but done for the night. Running Order: Goeden, Kertscher, Biertzer, Sexton, Whitney, Young, Symoens, Neitzel, Reinke, J. Sernett round out the Top-10. No laps were completed as the red flag is out after Reinke spins in turn 4 and is nearly cleared by all of the guys behind him as they take evasive actions, but gets clipped in the front end by Wirth sending Wirth onto his. Both drivers are Ok, but done though. Under the red flag, S. Uttech calls it a night. Goeden is able to control the restart and hold Kertscher at bay for about 3 more laps until traffic on Lap-12. Kertscher takes the lead through turns 3-4. Sexton gives up his second week of running solidly Top-5 with a mechanical problem. King was pit side soon after as well with a flat right rear. Lap-19: Yellow flag takes Kertscher out of heavy traffic after Johnson spins and stalls between turns 3-4. Kertscher was well in control on the restart. Lap-22: A Yellow was thrown for debris, someone lost a wheel cover on the front stretch. J. Sernett was given the Lucky Dog pass this time around. Restart: Kertscher has a cushion of lapped cars in front of Goeden on the restart and cruised to a determined and convincing win. Excellent run by Young, that was nice for a racer who has had some bad luck extending into last year. Kertscher busts out some ‘Chesson’ style 360 spins in the infield grass and throws his steering wheel high into the air in celebration in Victory Lane.

Great Write-up! Cold hard facts, that is what die hard sprint car fans like myself like to read. I have all but given up on the said thing the IRA calls their website. Cold hard facts have been replaced with driver's wives complaining about how their husbands were mistreated on the race track. Sad. If I wanted drama I'd rent a love story and buy a box of Kleenex.

I'm nominating you for the IRA journalist! What do ya'll think , maybe the IRA could hire Michael as a reporter. The show was awesome, start times were as promised and besides a couple wrecks and some minor track prepping the show was great.

Like I said I've all but given up on the website and their stories. If someone has an opinion they should post it with all the other pigs and chickens on the message boards, not the front page.
