SPORT MOD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
There are Southern and Northern Sport Mods and on October 2nd and 3rd it is time for a duel to find out who is the fastest.
There is definitely a NORTH vs SOUTH smack talk going on and after Sunday evening October 3rd we will know who has the baddest Sport Mod driver and car in the United States!
Historically Dodge City has been a town with allot of shootouts. In the old gunfighter days after the Civil War the North vs the South fights would break out. This time the shootout is with SPORT MODS and it seems the big guns are coming. History will be made and if you are a Sport Mod driver this is your chance to race for the SPORT MOD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
After the weekend of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 1 – 3 there will be no “what if’s” when it comes down to their hottest new sanctioned classes in dirt track racing. The NORTHERN rules for a Sport Mod are somewhat different from the SOUTHERN Sport Mods. Suspension and chassis seem to be better on the Northern and the engine and powerplant in the Southern Sport Mods are rumored to have more horsepower. With the Southern’s weighing more and the difference in tires
We have been experimenting at DODGE CITY RACEWAY PARK. This year we have been running the Southerns and the IMCA Northern Sport Mods together. The races have been really close and they are very competitive. No mixing the rules – each class runs their own rules HEADS UP and then we will know who has the faster cars and the best drivers.
Southern Sport Mods or Northern Sport Mods – no matter what we will finally have an IMCA NATIONAL SPORT MOD CHAMPION!
NCRA Southern Sport Mods can join the IMCA and race for this Championship if their cars are legal SOUTHERN SPORT MODS.
