Murphy Brings Home 2nd in SCRA Competition!

Hanford, CA – April 22, 2007…Race fans, we were lucky enough to get SCRA points race #4 in the books last Saturday night at Kings Speedway. After raining out the previous week Peter and the team were anxious to hit the 3/8 mile and "get after it!"
After qualifying the Tarlton & Son, Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Ridgeline Framing, Sharp Insurance, VMAC, BR Motorsports #21 in the 5th spot, we were set for racing in Extreme Mufflers Heat-1. After the 8-lap affair, Peter brought home a solid 2nd place finish, which then put us in the dash. And again, Peter did a superb job by bringing us home in the 2nd spot. In main event action, Peter and super-talented competitor, Davey Pombo battled tooth-and-nail during the 30-lap affair. However on lap-20 Pombo got around us, and we again, brought home 2nd place.
Well, we almost did it buddy: "Yeah, we lead it for a long way, but we got into lapped traffic and Davey got around us. No excuses, Davey had to deal with it too and he did a great job to get around us."
On Tap! It's back to Hanford next week - April 28th, for more SCRA sprint car action. After a night of 2nd place finishes, Peter will be looking to "bump up" one position as he is in the hunt for the win. "Murph" lurks 2nd in the points with only 6-points separating himself and Kerman's Davey Pombo going into this weekend's race.

Peter Answers! "(laughing hard) Brian, I don't really know what it means. I think it has something to do with the "Purple People Eater?"

John Meirhofer from John's Racing Photos caught Peter "twisting-it-up" in April 4th 2004 SCRA sprint car action at Tulare's Thunderbowl Speedway. On this extremely hot day, Peter got a little behind in qualifying, but true to his name, got his elbows up and won the C. He then transferred out of stout Heat-1. Peter then started 21st on the grid, and brought home a well deserved and hard fought 10th place finish.
