SIOUX FALLS, SD (November 17, 2006) - Wesmar Racing Engines and ASCS Team Up To Give Away a FREE ENGINE!!!

It was announced at this past weekends ASCS banquet that Wesmar Racing Engines will be giving away one of their potent ASCS 360 engines at a unique race at Devil's Bowl Speedway on October 13th in conjunction with the ASCoT race the same weekend.

Here's how racers can qualify for the race and engine: ASCS and Wesmar will award points for A feature finishes in each of their 12 regions plus the ASCoT National Tour, 3 points for a win, 2 points for second, and 1 point for a third place finish. The last race to collect points will be Saturday September 15, 2007, at that time the top two racers who collect the most points in each region plus the ASCoT for a total of 26 racers will be invited to participate in the race. To qualify for this engine give away race a racer must compete in at least 60% of the ASCS regional or National races. Here's how the race will be run: the top point man in each region will draw a pill 1-13 to determine their starting position. Positions 14-26 will be set the same way. We will run a 15 lap race with points awarded for finishing positions plus points for cars passed. We will determine points after that then invert the top 12 in points and run another 15 lap race. After that race we will add up points and the racer with the most points accumulated will win the engine.

Wesmar Racings Kelly Westphal explained, "when we came up with this idea and presented it to Emmett Hahn and Tommy Estes, Jr., I was emphatic about having a race for this engine rather than just drawing a name out of a hat." Tommy came up with the system on how we could have a race and be fair to all of the competitors involved. With this format the guy who draws the 26th starting position will not automatically be eliminated for the chance to win one of our engines because he will be able to pass a lot of cars and combined with his finishing position points can accumulate points in his favor! A tie breaker format will be determined and released in the near future.

Westphal added that manufacturers support has been outstanding, I can't thank our vendors enough! The 2007 season was superb in that Wesmar Racing Engines won it's third straight ASCS title and eighth overall, we won our third straight Knoxville 360 Nationals in a row, we ran 1-2 in the Brodix Tournament of Champions race, Jason Johnson won the ASCS Speedweek title in addition to winning the Short Track Nationals which was also Wesmars third in a row as well. The reason we have such outstanding success is because we use top quality American made parts from Dart, Brodix, Moroso, Kinsler Injectors, XRP Hoses and Fittings, CP Pistons, Crower Racing Products, KSE, Manley Performance Products, Huggins Camshafts, T&D Rocker Arms, MSD Ignition, Saldana Tanks, Dailey Engineering, Waterman Racing Components, Timmy Kuhn, Fel-Pro Gaskets, Trend Products, and Shaver-Wesmar Gear Drives.

Good luck to all ASCS competitors in 2007!
