Lil’ Rim Set To Tear Some Asphalt In Texas
INDIANAPOLIS, April 5, 2007 – Just off a very impressive off-week with two wins in California, Team Gurney Racing’s Chuck Gurney Jr. is ready to get back to action in the USAC National Midget Series in Kyle, Texas. Gurney will pilot his Red Line Oil/RaceFanRadio.com/Fontana/Beast Midget April 7 at the Allstate Texas Thunder and Lightning Racefest presented by Toyota at Thunder Hill Raceway.
"I'm looking forward to getting back into the seat of the asphalt midget,” Gurney said. “The last time I ran the car was in December when I was down in Orlando for the Sprint and Midget Classic. I had a good run down there and it would be great to back it up at Texas and get our season kicked off right. We have a great opportunity to run well in Texas and give TGR some momentum heading towards the month of May. We know there are some big races coming up and we think we have a team that is going to start turning heads.”
Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with qualifying beginning at 5:30 p.m. An autograph session will follow with heat races starting at 7:45 p.m. The green flag for the main event will drop at 8:30 p.m. General Admission tickets are available for $28 for adults; $12 for children 7-12 and children under 6 are free. For more information, visit www.thunderhillraceway.com/ or www.texasracefest.com/.
Chuck Gurney Jr. is a third generation driver with more than 200 career wins, including three national quarter-midget championships.
