Engine issues stall Brian Brown’s opening weekend

By Gary Thomas

Grain Valley, MO - March 22, 2007... Brian Brown’s U.S. season opening weekend at the 34th annual Devils Bowl Sprint Nationals, sanctioned by the American Sprint Cars on Tour National Series, was slowed by engine woes that surfaced during his heat race.

The weekend started out great as Brian drove the Ditzfield Transfer, American Compressed Steel, Housby Trucks, K & N Filters Maxim to a win in the fifth heat race, but unfortunately he burnt a piston during the heat and that spelled an end to the weekend.

Brian and Doogs No. 21 Racing team will be right back at however, as they’ll be competing with the ASCoT once again this weekend. They’ll be running at the State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City, OK and a talent packed field of nearly 50 cars is expected to invade the 3/8 mile oval for the two night’s of action which kicks off on Friday and concludes the following evening.

The State Fair Speedway is located on the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds near the intersection of N.W. 10th and May Avenue. For more info on the event call 405-948-6796

Brian Brown is a very good racer and he will win more than his share of races. The only thing I dislike about the kid is his post race interviews. Last year at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. he won a WOW vs. ASCS race. He talked for 20 minutes. I walked from the stands, around the track and was in the pits before he ever shut up. I'm all for his enthusiasm, and I do appreciate his skill and balls on the track, but give the mike a rest. I think he likes to hear the sound of his own voice.
