That's the nation's #1 360 Sprint Car racer from 2006. His home state fans don't get to see him too often anymore especially when he's racing off in Knoxville, Australia, and the like. We're kind of looking forward to it!

Champion Park Speedway was a home track of sorts for Josh Lofton. I'm sure he raced in some other classes of cars, but I first remember seeing him run in a Winged Modified. In fact, he was the first champion for the ArkLaTex Winged Modified series in 2004. It's a small regional series using the same kind of cars that Gary Wright learned to run before he swapped over to Sprint Car racing.

Josh was a pretty fearless young man. He was really fast at the 2005 Short Track Nationals but just couldn't keep all the tires on the ground. I think he set an STN record for getting upside down. He was off to a good start in the ASCS Midsouth Region in 2006 when we lost him to a drowning accident way too soon and way too young.

If you're in the area Saturday, come on out and support the show. We'd love to have you.

sure. I just now read this though and I'm at work. I can email it when I get home but you ought to be able to "right click" on it and save it that way too.

I'm hearing that Ramey's a doubtful now folks. So, sorry about that name being on there in error. I just put what I was told were commits. Should be enough with Jason, Rilat, the Gulf South regulars like Tankersley who I think is a Texas star of the future, and other drop ins to still make a great show.

If you remember, Tankersley was given an award at the Short Track Nationals. I think it was a hard luck type award for someone who appeared fast enough to make the A but had problems. I think Josh won that award the year he flipped 3 times at the STNs.
