Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (February 27, 2007) – With the American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region March 10 season opener at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix rapidly approaching, the series is set for Tech Day this Saturday, March 3.

The ASCS Canyon Region Tech Day takes place Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., hosted by Steve Stroud and The Phoenix Parker Store, located at 3518 E. Broadway Road.

While American Sprint Car Series President and founder Emmett Hahn will be among those on hand to ensure the safety and legality of the ASCS Canyon Region contingent, Stroud will also be catering breakfast during the activities as well as hosting a swap meet.

All drivers planning on competing in the $1,500-to-win ASCS Canyon Region opener at Manzanita Speedway and any other ASCS Canyon Region events over the course of 2007 are encouraged to get their cars teched in advance.

The ASCS Canyon Region embarks upon a full slate of 23 events throughout Arizona with the March 10 opener atop Manzanita Speedway's 1/3-mile clay oval, with other series' venues for 2007 including Manzanita's ½-mile as well as Tucson's USA Race Park and Casa Grande's Central Arizona Raceway.

The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with the series set to sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
