Springfield,Mo.-Springfield Raceway will be helping to get the racing season started with the running of the Make-up date on the 2nd Annual Open-Wheeled Turkey classic on the quick quarter mile clay oval on Sat March 14th.
Over 140 plus cars were on last last November when Mother Nature ended up taking the checkered flag that evening.
The event will feature 360 Winged SprintCars,Midgets,A-Mods and the ever growing and popular Sport-Mods.
PitGates will open on Sat Morning at 9:00 AM with the Grandstands opening at High Noon.Hotlaps are slated to start at 1:10 and Racing to begin at 2PM.
This will be a completely new show and all classes will redraw for qualifying heats.

Springfield Raceway is a quarter mile medium banked clay oval located one half mile west of I-44 and just south of W. Kearney on West Gate (FR123) heading towards the Springfield Airport.

If you attended the event in November your pit pass wrist bands and grandstand ticket stubs act as your rain check and are good for admission on Saturday or for any racing event during the 2009 season. Grandstand tickets for this special event are $15 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12 with 5 and under free, Pit Passes will be $35.00 for crew members. Drivers will be $50.00 this includes Drivers Pit Pass. Pit gates will open at 9:00 AM with the grandstand gates opening at noon. Draw for drivers will take place at the pit concession building from 10:00 AM - 12:45 PM and hot laps will begin at 1:00 PM. The first heat race is expected to hit the track at 2:00 PM.
Passing points will be implemented in each class, top 12 cars in passing points will be locked in to the A-main, the number of B-mains will be determined on the amount of cars in each class. 22 Cars will start the A-main, if there is an odd number of cars we will draw for the last position.
