I sure do hope that she finds the funding to race this year. Here in Cali we are so blessed to have her and Allisa Gevings competing at such a high level.

Any news on destiny? Hope she will be able to compete this year. It is good to see the females out on the track. Destiny has always shown she wants to compete with the top drivers here and with the WoO. Alissa has a lot of talent but need to venture more away from her home track to better herself. Running her home track every year doesnt help her career. She can win at her hometrack but she needs a win with the top drivers competing in the CW, GSC, Placerville, SilverDollar.
Good luck Destiny in finding sponsorship and hope to see Alissa moving up to the next level.

Good Day Sir: My name is Dennis, read your blog, knowing what I know and know who were talking about I'm noy going to lose any sleep over it. Please don't get me wrong I do hope there hasn't been some type of saffvo. I am a proud student of her grand parents of 40 yr or so I consider Destiney's mother like a sister. So that said if she did for some unseen reason lost her ride, the powers to be consider Destiney's sitting out just one race as unexceptable. You ever attended the horse races and watched the boards, gets a person to thinking wouldn't ya think..

is she really any good? or does she have a ride because she is a girl? you know, like the only reason Bill Lester had a NASCAR ride was because he was black.

She did win a USAC Western Sprint feature at the Las Vegas Bullring on October 16, 2004. As far as local wins, I don't know. But Sprint Car racing is relatively low profile compared to NASCAR. Putting a woman in a Sprint Car even at the WoO level just because she is a woman doesn't have much of a novelty effect anymore. Besides, if she WASN'T good, there ARE good female drivers out there to hire, if somebody was just looking to fill a seat with a woman. Sponsorship may be a factor, just like it is with the annual crop of "Who the bleep is he?" kids who always seem to pop out the woodwork every year.

Last time she ran Turkey night there were several girls in the race, yet she was the only girl not to qualify for the feature and had to run the B main. Then after transferring to the rear of the A, proceeded to take out the fast qualifier and destroy his car.
A small clip from the article read: "Officials reduced the scheduled "Turkey Night"40-lap race to 30-laps after a spectacular crash on lap 21 caused a 21-minute delay. Fastest qualifier Kody Swanson, 18, had started sixth in his family-owned Eagle/Chevy and was in third position as he tried to follow second place Idaho-driver Mike Murgoitio past the lapped car of Destiney Hays. "She moved over for second place and then moved back up the track and I ran over her back wheel," Swanson said in the pits. His car flipped near the end of the backstretch, slid along the crash-wall on its cage and stopped overturned in the middle of the third turn. "I was conscious the whole time. I reached up and turned off the fuel while still sliding. They (track emergency crew) wanted to cut my arm restraints. I told them not to do that because I had another race to run tonight and I didn't have any spare restraints," Swanson continued. He walked to the ambulance and road to the pits for medical evaluation. "My blood pressure was 190 and they said they wouldn't release me to race. (As fastest qualifier for the 100-lap Midget Grand Prix he had pole position.) They re-tested me a little later and my blood pressure was 180 so I was cleared to race," the talented driver from Kingsburg, Calif. revealed after his almost victorious second place run in the Midget GP"

Destiny ran at Siver Dollar Speedway consistently a few years back, and when she was out front and hooked up around the bottom she was hard to beat. Some of the drivers that she beat was Brent and Tim Kaeding, Jason Myers, Greg Decaires, both Allard brothers, Jason Statler, Andy Forsberg, Randy Hannagan need I say more?
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

I'm not from California, but if memory serves me correctly, she was the first winner of an A feature to successfully excute "donuts" after winning a race on dirt.

Savage, I can be pretty mean on here.... She did win the 360 race on the Wednesday night of a Gold Cup Weekend. By far, her biggest win of her career. As far as the post with her beating the best in California at Chico, I dont remember it. I do remember Shawna Wilskeys win, and she did do it against some of Californias finest, guys like Chuck Gurney, Tim Green, Brent Kaeding. Dont recall Destiney ever EVER doing this! She is a decent talent, but her looks get her further.

I do attend a few pavement shows, cause Im a fanatic. But anyhow, one night at Stockton, she was running her pavement car. She was in the main, cause Western States barely have enough cars to fill an A main. She ran into someone in turns one and two. She got out of her car and argueed to the official. She then got back into her car several laps down, and USAC pushed her back out to race. I have never in my life have seen a driver get out and argue with an official, only to get back in and race. The moment reminded me of the Danica stomp. I think this was the same night Kevin was down driving one of those orange midgets.... I seen Sammy that night workin on the car, and he behaived himself.....
