Hooray ! We are going to Florida Feb. 3-8 to see the sprint cars run at Volusia. We have never been to VSP and are trying to find out about the set up down there. We will be staying in Ormand Beach. I plan to buy pit passes every day. How easy is it to get around the speedway facility ? Where are the pits located ? Can you tail gate in the camping/parking areas ? Is it a short or long walk to walk from the pits to some where you can view the races as well (such as infield turns) ? Is there a grandstand in the pit area ? Is it easy to come and go back to your vehicle from the pits once the event starts ? What time do the pits open ? If you have a pit pass, how difficult is it to get to the main grandstands if you want to try and find a seat ? Williams Grove is one of my favorite places to easily get around and was wondering how VSP compares .

The Sprint pits are in turns 1 and 2 and if you buy a pit pass, you can easily go from the grandstands to the pit area. Yes, it is easy to get to your car from the pits. Its a fairly open layout and easy to get around. There are seats in the pits also so if you want to sit down you can. They are in turn 1.
Hope this answers some of your questions.

be sure to bring some safety glasses or goggles or something to as the pit area grandstands get covered towards the end of the night. also dont forget a coat and maybe lite gloves cuz although it is very nice during the day it does get kinda cold after the sun goes down. i was down there last yeah and it was a really good time though so have fun. we usually got to the track a little after noon and didnt have to wait that long to get the rig into the pits. hope this helps

Thanks 44x for the info and best of luck this season. Also, I just saw (via Frd Rahmer's website) that East Bay will host sprint cars starting on Tues. Feb. 10th. I have never been there either but have read a lot about it. Do many of the teams (WoO, Posse, ASCC)that run Volusia typicaly head over to East Bay afterwards or do most leave Florida ? Is it a "must see" if we are already in Florida ?Thanks
