I think it has to do with the number of posts. I believe you need 1000 or more gor power user status, you have 545. I am just a "rookie", so what do I know?
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

A "Power User" came about with the last edition or 2 of the message board. A user paid $30 to be able to view the message board without the banner ads, etc. If I remember right, you also got the ability to change how many threads are viewed per page. I signed up, and it was the best thing I did for using the board. Unfortunately, I don't think they are offering the option to become a Power User anymore.

You're right David - we don't see the banner ads and we can change the number of posts and threads per page from the default of 10. We still see Google Adsense ads in threads (if the thread is long enough) but they are not that obtrusive. I got mine by being a beta tester for the latest version of the board for Jeff (aka- BigDog) the admin/programmer. Not sure if it is offered anymore either as I don't see an option for it - but not sure we would as we are already "on the plan". I don't see anything about it in the FAQ either.
@jmartz - you may try looking in the "register" area and see if it is shown as an option for you - but all I see is "you are already registered"...
