What is the recomended position and angle for the nose wing. I have heard you want it parallel with the down tubes, but i have also heard that takes away some of the down force on the top wing. As far as angle goes, I have been told anywhere between 15-20 degrees. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

i think most people try to run it as far forward as the rules will allow most of the time. that is if your group specs it. as for angle? our car still has an adjustment for that and call me ignorant but i usually just eyeball it by my gut feeling! probly in the 25-30 or so degree area. we run small tracks so angle usually doesn't hurt us.

I believe it is 20" (most rules) from front axle to leading edge of wing , if you need to know anything about a front wing size, ask Haud.

Thanks for the input wright one. You advice is greatly appriciated. You said you run that on short tracks mainly, would you change that if you moved to a half mile or just leave it?
dirtdevil, thanks for your input as well. im looking more for what the pitch (angle) would be, i've heard a lot of different things as far as what works the best. wing size, not looking to get to fancy, just a low budget team just checking on some ideas.

if you really want to get fancy and find out just where the air from the front wing is going, tape some streamers to the trailing edge of the front wing (like you see done in wind tunnels) and put a fan in front of the car and blow air over the front wing.
to indy and beyond!!

i would think that on larger tracks the front wing would not need as much angle. on smaller tracks i would think the angle helps turn the car on entry and controll wheel standing.

go to Mcdonalds, purchase a large Coke , journey back to shop, dump Coke over your head, use straw to blow on front wing,

Most down tube frames are at a 30 degree angle so for a starting point set your front wing parrellel with the down tube. For half mile or larger tracks you will start reducing the angle because of the naturally increased downforce just like you would do for your top wing but just not as drastic. Hope this helps.
